As much as I think it's pretty low and childish to make a thread about this, it doesn't look like intent to hit the head. Contact looks like flush hit from shoulder to elbow hitting the right side of his neck, down to the Canucks logo all at the same time.
I don't know how they define that though when more than one part of the body is all part of the primary point of contact, since neck is hit same time as chest, is it defined as a head shot?
If he was laying into a member of the Flames with that head shot the uproar and condemnation would be deafening. I despise Burrows but that was brutal.
C'mon. Brutal? Really?
You know what they called that in 2002? A body check. He put his shoulder into his chest and his head snapped back. If this is now considered brutal we're in trouble.

You can see he raises his elbow too, just a blatant attempt at a head shot
Elbow comes up way after contact.
That one is right on the line. There is contact to the head but also contact to the shoulder and chest.
Suspension could go either way to be honest, my guess is a fine as a first time offender just because we are so sensitive to headshots now. IMO it's not that bad and wasn't a shot targeting only the head as the principle point of contact.
Edit: looks worse is that one angle in the full video. Kind of places his shoulder into the side of his head. Kind of similar to the hit on Naslund

Looks okay to me. Hard hit but not dirty. Elbow comes up after, never any head contact. The small gif does make it look worse than it is but it's just the angle.

Its the way I saw it. And its not 2002. Scott Stevens would be an oft suspended player in today's game. I think Burrows turns his head at the last instant, otherwise he'd be out cold.

Looks like a good clean hit. Didn't target or even hit the head, shoulder to the sternum. Don't see what's wrong with it. The fact it's Burrows on the receiving end makes it much more enjoyable.
Looks like he makes contact with his body and head simultaneously. It doesn't appear to be a blindside hit, and Burrows should have seen him coming.
The only way there should be any supplemental discipline is if it's considered a head shot, but it looks like he hit his entire upper body at the same time.
