July weekend of Sasquatch is cancelled.

http://www.sasquatchfestival.com/blo...weekend-is-can

I'm pretty stoked about it because I bought passes to both weekends in the early bird sale. After seeing the lineups I was trying to sell my July ticket and was getting worried I was going to take a huge loss on it, but now they're fully refunding the July weekend.

I thought it was pretty cool of them to just be very open and honest about the cancellation right on the front page of the website. Many concert/festival cancellations come with secrecy, little notice and very cryptic, if not non existent comments.

Quote:
“The Sasquatch! community has spoken. They continue to support the traditional Memorial Day Weekend event with great enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the second weekend was not embraced. We felt it was better to cancel the new event now and give everyone time to make alternative plans for the Fourth of July weekend. Going forward, Sasquatch! Music Festival will be at the Gorge Amphitheatre on the weekend the fans want: Memorial Day Weekend only
I guess it wold probably be different if fans were cold to the entire festival as opposed to an extra weekend they added for the first time, as it allows them to say "Hey, thanks for still supporting the main event, we've heard you on the second weekend", as opposed to "Hey fans, we've heard your complaints about the entire festival and are shutting down everything, thanks for the lack of support!!!".

Yeah, pretty choked about the July Sasquatch cancellation. I only had tickets to that one. I can't even imagine how bad ticket sales must have been. That place can only hold like 25-30 thousand.

Managed to figure things out and got a May ticket yesterday, should be sweet!

Lollapalooza put out a teaser poster. If you squint real hard you might be able to see the names. Apparently the headliners are: Eminem - Outkast - KOL - Arctic Monkeys - Skrillex - Calvin Harris.

If so......yikes

Just rename it to Recyclepalooza

Apart from outkast who are playing everywhere this summer those headliners have all played Lolla in the last few years.

Boy look at all those "Blues" based headliners! In all seriousness they really need to change the name of the festival now that it keeps getting bigger (and obviously less bluesy)

Weird, I was going to call you out and say it was last year that Limp Bizkit was there, then I found this page with all their past festivals posters and couldn't find them anywhere. Weird.

On top of that, wasn't it always in Gibbons, Alberta? Is this the first year they're having it in Penticton, BC?

Limp Bizkit was supposed to be last year, but for some reason they ended up cancelling. And yes this is the first year in Pentiction. The town of Gibbons kicked them out back in the summer.

I actually met Fred Durst in Vegas last summer and when I told him I was from Alberta he mentioned Boonstock, said the promoters were the worst they have ever dealt with and they announced them and put them on the poster without confirming anything, he also said the have a reputation of announcing artists without confirming them. Surprisingly was a really nice guy! About the move I heard it was because the owners of the property were sick of the litter and mess in Gibbons and also I believe the last couple years the amount of arrests and such have really gone up! I'm sure they won't have issues this years holding it right by a lake.....nothing could go wrong there!
