Yeah, Casablanca owner, former Alderman and MLA, Mayoral candidate. Always coming with ideas for how to improve Calgary. Sad to see him pass away so young.

Sucks, he was one of my favorite local politicians. We had a great doorstep debate back in my early 20s - yeah back in the days alderman came knocking themselves...
He would have been a great mayor...

Not a tear was shed here. Feel bad for the family but i am not a fan of him.
I remember his anti-pit-bull campaign in the mid-90's. I lost all respect for him during that. I have never seen someone so naive and uneducated about his own position, rally so hard against something he knew nothing about.

I am glad Mayor Nenshi, who would be considered a political rival, took his passing as an opportunity to point out what he disliked about him as well.... oh, wait.

But this isn't your typical "celebrity dies" thread, this a local politician and this is a local message board, with lots of people who knew him and interacted with him on the board, and it just happened. Think we could ditch the jokes in this case?
