Razors Edge in Avenida is my go to. $24 barbers cut, and they clean up your neckline with a straight razor. Some of the guys there are better than others, but I've found their cuts to be quite reliable.

Geez. I am about to go to a new barber today and this thread has me terrified... My old one was great but she is moving to Airdrie and there is no way in hell I am driving to Airdrie to get my flow trimmed.

Maybe I should post a before/after?

I don't know if he is still there, but Gay Ray in the same strip plaza as Mr Favourite Ice Cream Shop. He may have clsoed down once the base closed. He is/was? far and away the best cut and shave. He would straight razor you neck hair on the back.

He was an excellent barber

Believe it or not, Style Creation in Chinook gives a fairly reliable $30 haircut. The ladies there can pretty much pull off anything you want, and it's certainly a step above the Barber cuts if you're looking to be a little more fashionable.
Plus you get a wicked good shampoo and scalp massage. If you're not going somewhere that massages your scalp for a few minutes, you're doing it wrong.

That is the crux of this thread.

A good/true Barber can equal or exceed cuts done by good stylists that usually cut females.

If you find a good barber never let him go.

Recently, London Barbers on 4th St and 11th Ave have become my go-to place. They do the same thing with the straight razor along the neck line, and I love it. I think it hovers closer to the $30 range though.

They also offer some other service that I'm not familiar with, and have never asked, where they'll put this glob of stuff on a Q-tip and put it in your nose and ears?? anyone have any idea what that is all about?

Good news - according to Medem Medical Library's website, male pattern baldness (MPB) affects roughly 40 million men in the United States. Approximately 25 percent of men begin balding by age 30; two-thirds begin balding by age 60.

I go to the barber in Silverado. He is awesome and he does my 3 year olds hair at the same time as well. The two of us are done for like $40. Admittedly I am only a few years off having to embrace the bald and only needing to get the back and the sides cut but he still does a great job.

For the guys that live in far far Nw try out Mainstreet Barber in Airdrie. They do a good job and are open pretty late on weeknights. They also do straight rasor shaves and have a large tv which is always on some sporting event. Saturday morning if you are there by 9:30 you bypass the 1hr or more wait. Costs about 25 bucks with tip that includes straight rasor shaving the neck-hair monkeyman trail.

Yeah I pass by that place pretty regularly and considered popping in during the week, but haven't had a chance yet. Might have to give em a try this month.

There's a new guy that's taken over the Barber Shop in Marda Loop (beside Globefish). Lowered prices a bit, is quick and good, and has some nice touches like the straight razor neck shave and hot towel at the end. Highly recommend.

I have been to London Barbers a couple of times and they do a good job. I now go to the new barber that is on 1st and 10ave(by the hookah places) and they are just as good. Less busy to so you dont have to wait.

As for the globs they put in your ears and nose, i believe that is just to get rid of hair.

Bumping an old thread to suggest a new guy that I went to.

I now highly suggest Corbett's Rock and Roll Barbershop. Just got a haircut and beard trim from him, and I love the service you get there. He'll usually have a TV going with some live concerts playing, and will offer you a beer while you're getting cut. He's a one-man shop, so you have to book ahead of time, but it's quality service for an awesome price! This will be my new regular place.
