Spring/summer might happen in Calgary and if it does I'm going to need to do some patio work. I have an area between my garage and shed/house which doesn't get any sun. As a result grass is almost non existent there and it becomes a muddy messy when the snow melts or when it rains.
As such, I want to put down some patio stones and I want to see if anyone can tell me where I can find some larger sized stones. I've checked with a couple of places and their stone pieces are generally limited to about 2 sqft (24x24, 28x18.) I'd like to use a few larger slabs similar in size to traditional granite slabs that kitchen/bath guys work with (40 to 60 inches by 80 to 100 inches.)
Besides going to granite shops like Stone Selection are there any suppliers that might have larger slabs for outdoor use? Could I find something like that at Burnco?
Is there a particular reason why you'd want to go with big ones? Patio stones tend to only get to a certain size for leveling purposes etc. I might suggest you go with normal patio stones, to which you could make up for their lack in size with additional quantities

I want to use a few larger stones because I figured the larger stones would look better. I find that with some smaller stones especially when they are more irregularly shaped it can be too busy visually.
