And what's realy scary is Virtanen is a better skater and shooter then Perry was.
Again.. if this guy didn't play in Calgary no one here would be talking about him.

you could say the exact same thing about guys like Tyler Biggs or Michael McCarron.

If the Flames fall to 7-10 sure.. consider this guy. But in the top 5... no way.

Too much emphasis on playing in Calgary. Biggs nor McCarron ever came even close to scoring like Virtanen. They also can't skate like him either.

I am not saying he will, or should be drafted in the top 5, but the comparisons and underlying reasoning doesn't make sense either.

Virtanen won fastest skater at the prospect game, in a competition that Ehlers participated in. Either way, im sure they are pretty close. I wonder what Virtanens numbers would have looked like if he played on Drouins wing? Could he have scored 60?

Ehlers is the one player that caused my jaw to drop at the prospect game with this ridiculous little fade lateral pass to a streaking teammate, but there is major risk there I think and with our mantra for size, I don't see it happening.

I kept noticing Goldobin and Reinhart that game as well, and also thought Ho-Sang was 'Shremp-like'. Ehlers definitely has some elite skill. Will be interesting to see where he tops off at the draft rankings at, and then where he actually goes in the draft.

Yeah, Goldobin had a really nice game too. Reinhart was like "invisible" in the best way possible, in that you didn't really notice him until he was in the middle of creating yet another scoring chance.

Totally agree there. Reinhart really grows on me every time I see him play in different tourneys. He seems to quickly find chemistry with whomever happens to end up on his line, and does it so effectively.

I think Ritchie falls, gets drafted in the 12-16 spot.

There's gotta be concern over his determination. At 230 lbs, he's fat. That's the same weight as 6'7''-Chris Breen, and 6'8''-Tyler Meyers. And if he's not physically fit, that would explain why so many scouts say he's a beast one minute then taking shifts off the next.

He could have all the tools to be great, except for that desire to do what it takes, which in that case he'd just be a big, skilled, lazy, inconsistent player.

I've dropped him out of my top 10.

I would wait till the combine before i read too much into that he is only 17 years old he could have the desire just bad habits that can be corrected. If he's that out of shape when he gets in shape he'll be a beast.

Lucic 6'3 235

Ritchie 6'3 229

That's exactly what concerns me.

At 17 years old:

Lucic 6'3 205 lbs (pre-draft rankings in 2006)
Ritchie 6'3'' 229 lbs

Florida is out. Top 3 likely set, just not sure who finishes #2/3 between EDM/FLA.

4 - New York - 63pts - 11GR
5 - Calgary - 67pts - 10GR
6 - Ottawa - 71pts - 11GR
7 - Carolina - 71pts - 11GR
8 - Nashville - 72pts - 10GR

Hold on to your nipples boys... we're quickly approaching 6-8 territory.

Tomorrow's games:
NYI @ CAR
OTT @ FLA
COL @ NSH

Reinhart 1g 4a in a 7-6 OT loss to the Hitmen.

What was impressive is that he was the only + player on Kootenay tonight and 5 of Kootenay's goals were PP goals and all Hitmen's goals were ES

Virtanen had 0 points +1

Sam Reinhart is +1 with 5 points in a 7-6 loss to the Hitmen tonight (Hitmen score all 7 EV).

The hockey gods can give us News Anchor Bukkake this year if they want as long as they reward our righteousness next year.
