iTunes for Android?
http://mobilesyrup.com/2014/03/21/la...e-for-android/

Could it be possible that Apple is considering making one of its prime services available on Android? This could be a first for the company and according to the latest report from Billboard has Tim Cook and Co. considering it.
Apple’s iTunes Store is seeking ways to expand outside iOS and Windows to combat declining digital music sales and might see a life on Android. Apparently talks have taken place between Apple and unknown “senior label executives” to bridge over an iTunes app onto Android and connect to millions of devices, thus increase their revenue. The other goal is to take on the emerging and popular platforms like Spotify, Beats and Pandora.
Billboard states that “Apple has opened exploratory talks with senior label executives about the possibility of launching an on-demand streaming service that would rival Spotify and Beats Music, according to three people familiar with the talks. Apple is also thinking about adding an iTunes App for Android phones, the Google rival that has been growing faster than the iPhone, these sources said.”

Wouldn't have believed it 2-3 years ago but would make sense now. They'd mitigate the loss of customers switching to Android and make the transition easier if someone wanted to switch back.
I'd imagine Google would welcome it and it would be great for Canadian Google Play customers as it's sorely lacking in Music and TV options at the moment (as in non).
I don't like the way iTunes operates but it would create more options, more choices.

Legally?
Opening of iOS/iTunes would be great. iTunes is annoying, when you buy a TV series the entire thing starts downloading. If the option was to Buy then you could download/stream it'd be great. Add a Chromecast button and bam, set.
Yes, Google still needs to bring Music and TV buying options to Google Play, but that's what Android is about, options.

Not surprised by the rumors at all. While the growth of the smart phone market in the US is 40/60 Apple/Android in 2013 in the rest of the world it's 20/80. Their market share is getting hammered and they'll need to tap into other markets eventually or they will lose all the record label pricing deals they got when they were top dog. The bleeding will only get faster as their customer base and market share continue to erode.
You can get TV/Music legally from Google but it involves jumping through a lot of technical hoops most people don't have access to. I don't know why Google is so slow with content licensing compared to Apple.

I hate Apple. That being said, Android has completly failed in bringing the proper google music store to Canada.

Doesn't surprise me, some money to be made since Google doesn't have the music store in Canada.
Speaking of which, is that ever going to happen?
Meh, still wouldn't use itunes anyway. Screw apple

I would use this. I still use Itunes as my source for music (never been a fan of renting my music via subscription).
It frustrates me that I can't buy music on my android phone the way I used to with my iphone.

Honestly I don't understand why we are having so many problems with Google Music in Canada. Movies are available but Music and TV aren't and music is available on the Czech Republic even. Probably something really messed up with our archaic content licensing system that Google hasn't solved properly yet.
Though Google Music has gone out a couple of times in Canada already.

Just sign up for Google Music. Log into your google account - change your account to USA - use a real zip code (90210). Subscribe to Google Music - change account back to Canada. Still get billed every month.
Did that over a year ago and havent looked back. Google Music is fricken awesome. Add it to Chromecast/xbmc to push it to my home stereo and its perfect.

I downloaded it when I was in vegas before it was released in Canada. The online store was really good but you have to have an american credit card for purchases. Not sure if the google play cards are a good work around though, havent tried.

I havent purchased anything on top of what the monthly subscription gives me, so I cant comment on that. I dont see the need to purchase the music when I have unlimited music, and can pin it to my device. Plus Google Music allows you to have it on 10 devices at once as well.
