11 points in last five games...
I was very unhappy when Darryl didn't sign him the last time around. I'll be very sad if he leaves again.
I can see him wanting to go to a contender and a bigger city.

Funny thing, I think that pre game skate prank shows how close he is to some of these kids. I wouldn't rule it out...

Don't think Cammy will be back. Judging from his answer with Scott Oake.. looks like he wants to explore his options outside of Calgary. Plus with the rebuild we have going here, I think Cammy wants to go to a contending team... he's not getting younger.

You know, I think Cammy could stay, but just because of how great the lockerroom atmosphere is with this team.

Shame he went on the coldest streak of his Flames career right before the deadline... The guy is on fire now, go figure.
My opinion is a pendulum on this subject, but I'm currently hoping he decides to stay. Burke will probably offer him money, if not term. The ideal would be a year-long extension and then attempt to sell him as a rental again next March. Otherwise it seems like wasteful asset management to let him walk for nothing...

Yeah so much for everyone saying teams don't make decisions on players based on their last 20 games. If cammy was playing like this before, I imagine we would have gotten something decent for him.

I think if he was on this same streak, I still have my doubts that Burke would have received a much better offer for him. This past deadline day was just abysmal and a total buyer's market. When you see Vanek going for what I consider a 'B' prospect + a conditional 2nd, the market just sucks.
Cammalleri would have had to remain injury free and been putting up good numbers the entire season - maybe then he would have received a 2nd + something. The market simply wasn't there this year, unfortunately.

Throw big money at him for one year, 7.5 mill and hope for a good return at the trade deadline.
OR
Throw term at him with a low cap hit and keep him as our 2nd line RW for the duration of the rebuild.

The entertainment value Cammy has provided since the deadline is worth more to me as a fan than the paltry return we would have gotten for him. As for the whining about his pre deadline slump, he was coming off a concussion ffs, as well as wondering where he was going. I'm really loving watching him play at a high level. If he doesn't sign, I won't be missing the 4th rounder. Burke got a second rounder out of the blue for Berra, I'll call it a wash.

I hope he signs in Calgary. 3 years 4.5-5 million per. Anything more is not acceptable in a re-build.

Be nice if a team traded their 1st or 2nd for exclusive contract rights at the draft. Still get something if he happens to not get re-signed.

I like the idea of having a guy with that much skill and class helping our young guys. Baerstchi and Gaudreau could learn a lot from him (despite those who think Johnny is god)

A fifth rounder might be the best to hope for (the same as what the Flames gave up for Wideman's rights).

I doubt they can get anything for his rights. Is there not a 7 day period before ufa market day that teams can woo players?

Yes but last year the NHL made it clear that the teams aren't supposed to discuss dollar figures or length during those 7 days.
It's meant to be more for the players to meet organizations and travel to cities to see if they think they will fit in or like the lifestyle there.

Amazing how quickly people can go from wanting to boot Cammy as far away from this team as possibly to talking about the length and value of another contract. That being said, I'm guilty as well. If he's willing, a one year deal though I suspect we'll see at least two.

Not interested, as others have pointed we don't need any more small soft LWers. I love the attitude of this team right now too but its not like we're contending here. Need to change things up
