Well I guess if by "literally nothing" he means two first round picks that are better than any forward prospects still in the Oilers system, then I guess he's correct in his assessment of the situation.

No one would have believed it. It would be so far-fetched as to be trolling.
What an unmitigated disaster.

I can't wait for the follow-up post in a couple of years when he's complaining about Poirier and Klimchuk (i.e. the "nothing" the Flames got for Iggy and Bouw) outplaying the Oilers superkids.
Also, the kid wearing #51 for the Flames looked pretty good in his second ever pro game (so close to his first goal). Another piece of "nothing".

The NHL should continue to adjust for first overall draft picks, so that teams that are in the bottom six really have to work their way out, instead of lose for success in a draft and lead to exhibit A which is the Oilers.
I would make the case that the Flames have earned the first overall draft. Unlike the other teams.

Wow. Just wow.
I hope the camalleri skate debacle turns into a full on prank war on this team, building chemistry even further.
Btw Edmonton is no GOOD!
Halls behavior, and play tonight, exhibit why a smart franchise would either send him to junior for his 18yr old season or surround him with leaders who care and coach who is Balls to the wall.
Insert RNH above.
Insert yakipov above.
So who exactly is a bigger debacle this season? Edmonton or Vancouver?
I don't care about time missed due to injury, it's time to start promoting Gio for Norris. He won't win, but I challenge anybody to name 5 better defenseman in the league this season! (Pfffffff: Hamhuis and Subban on Olympic team)
What is sad is that I am sure that Burke will trade young players from the roster to make the team his own. It will be for the better, but I've never been more entertained by a team that had no chance at making the playoffs! I am looking forward for what's in store for the last Canuck game!
And finally, I am still choking back tears for STAJ! Despite at times being pretty hard on the guy, I'm proud to know he will wear the Flaming C for 4 more years. #heartandsoul

You’re not just disrespecting the people in this room, you’re disrespecting the guys who wore the jersey before us. Al the great guys who pulled that sweater over their head ... the Messiers and the Gretzkys all took pride in wearing that jersey. Guys like Joey Moss every day, the unsung heroes around the rink who pride themselves on that logo.”
“You’re a fan, you can do whatever you want, but when it comes to that logo, that’s a sacred thing for us,” he said.
“Disheartening for me to see our fans treat it like that.”

Eakins could have handled that better. He made it a big deal when it didn't have to be. Over-react much? I'd be lookin for something else if I was Hall.

How freaking lame is playing "Shots" during the fight?

I can envision Kevin Lowe in the team locker room after the game giving a motivational speech to the downtrodden and lowly Oilers...."Listen up guys, See these Stanley Cup rings on my fingers....I know a little something about winning....no matter how tough it gets just remember to HANG IN THERE...it will get better someday, I promise.."

At first, I honestly couldn't believe I was hearing "Shots" as the fight song.
Then I remembered Edmonton is no good.

The entire Draft Lottery show should feature Brian McGrattan standing behind Bill Daly while holding one of his tiny dogs.
There is nothing scarier than a tough guy quietly petting a small animal.
