Not really. There was plenty said about how good the Flames are playing, the low shots against, Hartley, buying into a system, good supporting cast, Ramo was mentioned a bunch.

Believe what you want, but it's simply not true.

Besides, the Oilers ARE a story unto themselves, they suck so bad. How can you expect media not to want to talk about them.

I think the current caller must have had at least 7 drinks. And by drinks I mean bottles of vodka.

A season of great stories for the Flames:

- Flames sparking the Vancouver and now Edmonton mega-fails,
- Stajan and the support of the team and city behind him,
- McGratton showing his true value - beyond the ice - of what it takes to make a good team,
- Monahan fighting tooth and nail to stay on the team, playing beyond his years and beyond the scoresheet recently,
- Bouma's dedication night in and out to helping the team win games, regardless of the consequences to his body,
- Brodie's meteoric improvement over the last few years, but really showing just how good he can be this year,
- Giordano proving that giving him the Captaincy was not a mistake,
- the over 40 different players on the team since the start of the year; the cupboards not as empty as we thought,
- Backlund's coming out party - Where R U C O'S can just shush,

There's just too many to count - Burke said that he wanted to make this team more entertaining to watch. We may have a losing record, but sign me up for more of this!

*Rambling flames excitement after massive Oiler fail - super enthused but can't help it!*

I'll add to that

-Byron is a stud.
-Backlund has completely unleashed the beast this year.

Also, for those of you not at the game tonight, there were actually 3 jerseys thrown onto the ice tonight. The one Scrivens threw back, one further along that side of the ice in the other corner, and then another at the end of the game across from the Scrivens one.

Yet all they are talking about on CBC is the Hall/Eakins hissyfit and what a 'great moment' it was for Scrivens to throw a jersey back in the crowd. Seriously, what is more important?
They talked about it and showed his post-game comments on Sportscentre, at least.

Of course, being TSN, they still had to talk about him being a former Leaf and what a well-liked guy he was while he was there.

Thinking about pvr'ing oil change for the first time ever.

Must be nice for the oilers to have thier season low come against the flames and have it all documented in HD.

They'll need to hold that episode for May sweeps, it will do huge ratings in Southern Alberta. Although more than likely they'll all but forget to mention the Oilers embarrassing loss to Buffalo and the annihilation tonight. Instead they can focus on the Oilers beating a Predators team that's already tanking like there's no tomorrow.

This was the best HNiC ever. I was smiling like an idiot all night and still have a $#%& eating grin on my face thinking about it! I head to Calgary on Monday to meet my dad for our annual father/son Flames game. Gonna be ridin' high on my way to Cowtown! Bring on the Sharks!

I caught part of the rant where he was talking about Hall and his attitude and said Pat Kane was a punk who didn't tip a cabby and ended up in jail but at least he's matured.

Kind of disappointing tonight. I thought for sure we'd get double digits. No excuse for that.

I love the look on the Oiler's players faces when they were heading to the dressing room.

Hanowski and Gio.

Even without playing past the warm-up, Hanowski still contributed more tonight than any of the Oilers kids.

Love this from HF board...

Imagine if back when we drafted Hall if someone told you the Flames would STILL be better than the Oilers in 2014? Oh, and that in the meantime they had lost Kipper, Iginla, and Bouwmeester for literally nothing?

No one would have believed it. It would be so far-fetched as to be trolling.

What an unmitigated disaster.

What I loved is in the second period CBC newscasters were chuckling after the 4th goal. That it was broadcast across the country. Also, Sportsnet has buried it!

Edmonton really needs to rebuild right now by clearing out the GM first/Coach that have clearly lost the respect of the players that wouldn't do well in the AHL. Then they need to clear our the players and start in earnest. Similar to the loss of respect for Torts.
