The only shame in this whole debacle tonight is Stajan's moment not getting more recognition on national television, obviously we here at CP recognized it but only mentioned in passing on CBC. Guy suffers a heartbreaking loss of a son and gets his first goal and dedicates it to him. Yet all they are talking about on CBC is the Hall/Eakins hissyfit and what a 'great moment' it was for Scrivens to throw a jersey back in the crowd. Seriously, what is more important?

He's honestly the stereotypical Oiler fan. Total belief in his team, total belief that they will be good shortly.

Can't really add much to what has already been said tonight, but Burke would be crazy to not keep Hartley and Byron around.

Hudler carried the offence for much of the season. During that time, Cammalleri was terrible.

Totally fine with it, to be honest. Let him have his moment, it doesn't have to be public, you could tell Cammalleri was even uncomfortable being asked about it post-game.

He didn't look remotely interested in putting himself through that again.
I kind of hope I'm wrong, because if he's playing like he is right now, he's the best goal-scorer on this team, but I believe he's out of here the first chance he gets.
|
I think he'd be crazy to not test the market, but I bet nobody is going to give him more than 3 years at his age and contenders up aganst the cap will probably offer 2 max at a pretty low rate.
The flames are going to be able to offer him more money and why not take it... inflate his numbers getting tonnes of ice and powerplay time playing with friends and then move to a contender at the deadline next year if things go badly with a bigger payday.
Then again Burke's failure to get him a shot at the playoffs this year probably hurts the trust in that scenario.

Yeah, Hudler has been awesome for stretches this season. Definitely earned his keep.

I'd say he was awesome for most of the season. A person would have to have a pretty short memory not to remember that. Very opportunistic to bring up a comparison to Cammalleri now that he's on his (first) hot streak and Jiri clearly hasn't been the same since coming back.

Craig MacTavish @FakeOilersGM
I think it's safe to say that Ales Hemsky wasn't the problem.

I think 7 drinks are the minimum to admit you might be an oiler's fan.

What a night for the Flames. This might be the highlight game of the season. The Oilers are a pathetic team.

Is there any way the Oilers can justify not trading one of Hall/Eberle/RNH or their 1st round pick? Can they really ask their fans to sit around and wait for Ekblad or whoever to come in and develop after a 10 year rebuild.
what they will actually do though is trade Yakapov to some team for a big defenseman and talk about boldness.
