If the images really did show objects 24m and 5m in size, then that's not nothing. Something's there, but it's a matter of tracking it down, as the ocean has a tendency to move stuff around, despite there being lesser currents in that general area. And some people are saying it might've sank.. I hope not.
I just feel as if this happened in our neck of the woods, many more resources and just better overall resources would be put into finding this thing. It wouldn't go on two weeks, not a chance. The fact that they're looking at half a week old sat shots says enough.
For some reason i doubt there are high res spy satellites taking pictures of the middle of the indian ocean where there is quire literally nothing.
Even if there were high res satellites on the area, none of the spy agencies would likely reveal they have the capabilities because of national security reasons. Look at how long it took the Malaysians to hand over the radar transcripts to the Americans and the Chinese investigators.
Looks like were getting to that stage where discussion/interest significantly drops off. Shouldn't be much longer before media moves on to the next best story, if not already.
Can't seem to find any news as of late, not even rumors or theories that can be debunked. Only that the search in the Northern corridor will be starting soon? (Why so late again)

Just thinking about that plane being in that area gives me a sick sinking feeling of isolation. I don't like the southern part of our planet
Me too, something just wigs me about about those completely remote and desolate parts of our planet (mainly the ocean areas, Antarctica doesn't bug me at all).
That southern search area is a real bugger, almost 4 hours of flying to get to it and that leaves most aircraft with roughly 2 hours of loiter time to search before having to head back to base.

I think it'll hang on a little longer because nothing makes sense with this story.
Every single theory has a large hole.
- If it was a suicidal pilot why would he fly 7 hours to do it?
- predetermined course change(should rule out the ghost plane theory)
- Australian PM claiming the 77 foot piece of debris could be just a shipping container that fell off a boat (guess what? no such thing Mr.PM, the largest ever made is 53ft.)
Good grief. Is anyone else getting sick of CNN's reporting of this? They just aired a piece about the pilot liking a lot of posts from a particular girl on facebook. It's also been 10+ days of "breaking news" and "developing stories" with Wolf Blitzer and the other talking heads. Has American reporting devolved into sound bites and breaking stories? Is this a product of dumbing down of the American public or just a dumbing down of the news?

That is media coverage in this day and age. It's brutal, and the main reason why I don't follow current events much.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
CNN has become such an embarrassment. The other day they had Carl Bernstein on (of Watergate fame) talking about the Ukraine situation and Putin. The host couldn't wait to get him off the air to move to the next bubble brained BS that was on the docket. She kept looking off screen, trying to rush him, trying to cut him off.
It was embarrassing. It was the only legitimate commentary on their network in probably a week, they should have been milking it instead of pulling out the coat hook.
