I can only rock AM radio and an iPod now. XM in the wife's car.
I don't know of a single FM station I can listen to for more than 10 minutes. Even on that new Comedy AM station they play bits from Virgin radio and CJAY and it's just BRUTAL.
Calgary radio GMG.

Ok, this must really be GMMFG, since this is is my first post in this or it's predecessor's thread. Gas prices. 120.9 and it's been that price solid for the last 2 weeks. I felt ok when it first went up as I had over 3/4 tank. I've waited it out about as long as possible and am now close to touching red line. I get pretty good mileage and don't really drive a whole lot, which has helped, but good Lord. I really didn't expect it to stay this high for this long.
I usually fill up when I'm half full or quarter at the least. I know it's a dream, but if most were in the same situation as me, being at least half full and wait as long as possible when prices go up to refill, maybe they would lower their ####### prices and stop gouging. Now I have to fill up or at least put $20 in, and wait it out a bit longer with that.
Since I don't drive a tonne, I'll probably just fill up, but even though it doesn't amount to a whole lot of dough, it would irk me to fill the tank and then see the price drop shortly after. It shot up from 111.9 to 120.9. Grrrr....
I've been the recipient of chain emails to only gas up at one station, but that never seems to work. I really thought the price would drop after a few days, as this is the highest it's ever been here. It amounts to paying an extra 6 or 7 dollars on a fill, which isn't the end of the world, but I've also cut down on driving thanks to the spike. I'm sure it'll go down later this spring when it warms up. Otherwise, I'm biking to work. Would do me some good anyways. What are the prices at in Calgary?

Yes it is. Especially when it keeps going up. Indifference to a few dollars increase every so often is a part of the problem. Petroleum companies and the government really love that attitude. I'm sure they just love you.

Also if everyone only watches one channel in a bundle then each channel in that bundle will on its own cost the $10 because the total revenue before and after unbundling needs to remain the same. The only people who will save money are those who watch the unpopular channels as their value will drop off a lot.3
When the CRTC makes changes these companies only use it as an excuse to raise prices.

I think it is time for full on price regulation in the entire telco industry.
These guys put the absolute minimum in for infrastructure upgrades because the "competition" does the same thing.

I don't know Scoreface, I'm kind of in the same "who cares" boat. It sucks, but what exactly am I supposed to do about it? It's a terrible market. I HAVE to drive, I NEED gas to drive, so I pretty much lock myself into paying whatever. I don't bother letting it GMG.
I fill up for about 41 dollars, the cheapest I've filled up for in the past couple years is MAYBE 35, at the lowest. That's a difference of 144 dollars per year.
It is what it is.

Judging by your post you put a lot of thought into gas pricing. I find it unproductive to dwell on things that are beyond anyone's control. At the end of the day gas is incredibly cheap for what it does. Yeah it sucks when it goes up but the price difference is pretty irrelevant in the big picture.

I don't think price regulation is required but for sure some regulation that would force the spectrum owners to rent spectrum to 3rd parties at competitive rates. And also give them exclusivity on new technology they implement for a few years from the 3rd parties. This would incentivize new development and ensure low prices at the trailing edge of technology.
The only thing worse than a government monopoly is an corporate oligopoly. Some pro-consumer regulation instead of the crap they produce would be great.

All I ask for is 2 things. Mandatory separation of device subsidy and the monthly fee. And third party companies able to rent spectrum at a competive rate.

I don't think they actually wanted 2 year contracts, but the reality is that they did have a determental affect on the consumer. The telcos raised their rates and got far more restrictive on device upgrades and cancellations than they were before.
Nice idea, but they underestimated who they were doing business with.

Mix was far superior IMO. They didn't play the same type of music.
