Do they need to have an election for leader or can they appoint the person who finished second in the last election?

I'm kind of in shock that a premier can be brought down by a 45k trip. I feel like anyone worth their salt could have easily navigated through this or blown it off easier.

Well glad to see her ego still leads the way. The second biggest disaster in Canadian Political history after Kim Campbell.

Good riddance Redford, pay for your own travel expenses now.

do the right thing and dissolve this entitled corrupt government and let the people decide who they want to lead.

She should have taken crisis management tips from Rob Ford.

The "get made completely irrelevant and pretend you still matter" method?

It is a bit interesting. I wonder if Albertans are aware of how fast Harper's stuff can rack up the bill.

This is bad news for the WRP. It gives the PC's a chance rebuild confidence with voters before the next election. With the right person in charge chances are good they could win the next election.

Doesn't make Redford right though.

It's not as much the absolute number as much as the reason. Her daughter's buddy just begs the question if she has this level of entitlement and disregard for funds, what else is out there?

I wonder what else is coming down the pipe scandal wise?

I wonder if she's going to book a quick trip before Sunday just to flip the bird to her disloyal party members.

Did she pay the $45k yet? If not, I wonder if she's still going to

I think that Redford was put in an unattainable situation in which she was destined for failure, her support was non-existent from anyone, no one really had her back at any point in time and frankly the Wildrose played really good (and bad depending on your view) politics in which they portrayed Redford as some sort of maniacal, egotistical person with the most extravagant personal spending in politics. The criticisms against her were almost all personal with little to do with actual policy.

I probably would have pulled every single MLA's expense reports and gone over them with a fine tooth comb. Then told each and every one of them to sing like canaries about how ****ing great I am.

How is that possible? It's likely only fifteen minutes from South Africa.

Rob Ford doesn't compare because even though his antics are much worse, his base doesn't care and he still had their support. She was DOA.
