Sutter made Colborne look invisible out there. You couldn't even tell he was on the ice which is not what you want with a big guy like him.

Yeah, the guy might as well have been in Toronto, that's how invisible he was.

Blame Sutter for everything, even if it doesn't make sense.

To be honest I dont think of Joe as a big guy. He is really tall but not a big guy - or even one of the flames bigger guys. Thats something he can work on this off-season.

Sutter? You mean Suter?

Yeah... in my opinion (and many other peoples)that is one of the top 5 ice hockey defencemen on this planet. He does that on a nightly basis to players far more experienced, accomplished and stronger than Joe Colborne.

I can't think of many D-men with a higher value and overall ability than Suter.

Shea Weber, Alex Pietrangelo, P.K. Subban, Erik Karlsson, Ryan Suter.
That is probably my top 5 in no particular order. Obviously P.K. and Karlsson are different types of defencemen then the others but i'm sure you get my point. This is the top echelon of players in this position today.

Next point being..yes Colborne got dominated by Suter. But so do the vast majority of the forwards who come up against him and the few other D-men like him. + Joe has barely played 82 games in the NHL. I just dont see how this is a valid criticism of Joe.

Thats a bit like saying - well Wotherspoon just got completely physically dominted by Lucic - he couldnt handle him. Or saying - wow Breen is just unable to catch or take the puck from Datsyuk.

I just dont see it as a valid / fair criticism at this point in their career when you look at what/who they are going up against / being compared to. IMO Colborne has been probably our second most improved youngster after Monahan who has just gotten better every game. We should be picking out the positives rather than the very small negatives in his game since he moved to wing.

I think he didn't mean Suter. He was making sarcastic fun of the previous post, which said "A LOT of players are playing much better with him rather than Sutter. He's a good coach, he seems to be able to get the most out of his players. Including Colborne."

I have no idea what this means but Congrats to Joe!

Joe Colborne is the recipient of the inaugural #Flames Good Guy Award, as determined by Calgary reporters. Well deserved.

The "Good Guy" award acknowledges a #Flames player who maintains patience and a good natured attitude in dealing with the media

Congratulations to Joe! Big improvement career wise and looks great with Monahan. Very strong on the boards now. Always cheerful and smiling with the media in interviews too.

Gaudreau - Monahan - BVB was by far the best line in camp, so Joe should fit into that RW real nice.

So I'm walking around in the Springbank Arena where my kid plays and there are old figure skating group pics on the wall. Some of them feature "Joey Colborne". I'm glad he went with hockey.

I will make an attempt next time I'm there. Practice tonight is at the Edge, so you will just have to wait.

There's 11 kids and 12 names. I think the kid on the right 2nd row is Joe.
