best thing about that Byron goal, watching the replay, is he's getting lumbered the entire time and still puts it away.

A Canuck would've fell (read: dive).
So impressed with Byron. There's no way this guy doesn't get signed. His speed has been a difference maker on so many occasions.

Didn't try to get the call or the penalty shot, put his head down and powered through.
Desirable character trait for a hockey team.

Yeah, a Canuck would have done a Triple Lutz or a McTwist trying to draw.

Just got back from the game. My section gave Stajan a standing o but still seemed quiet. Place was empty until Halfway through the 1st unfortunately.
Group of kids in the next section really wanted to get a wave going, they were dedicated, went the whole 3rd. I love seeing kids get into it like that.
Should have been an orts shutout. I can see Hanowski back in abby by the end of the week, especially since Hudler is skating now. Byron is a beauty, that goal was fantastic. Mcgrattan line played a good game, few good chances with him Glenny and gali.
Snoozer of a first period but the 2nd and 3rd were a good time.
Took a friends kid and his friend to their first NHL game and I think we have a few more lifetime fans in the making, they had a blast, so thank you Flames for the win!

How the hell did Kipper's back hold up all of those years?

It is nice to see that Ortio is at least looking like a reliable backup at this point. Still young and has upside on top of that, but to me his floor seems to be NHL backup. Great to see! Hopefully he keeps developing and improving, but it is really wonderful to see him at the NHL level.

Well, Colborne was also benched in that one game but look where he is now. Maybe this will be Hanowski's turn around benching?

The best part of the game was Byron's shorty. It was incredible defensive awareness, speed, and hands. Byron steals the puck then blows by Hodgsen and Ristolainen while being slashed by the dirty ex-Canuck. At that point he makes a quick deke and was going so fast the goalie never had a chance. Byron is such a versatile player and I think he can be a big part of the rebuild.
Buffalo is horrible however. They have to be one of the wost offensive teams all time even including expansion teams. To only get 14 shots on the Flames is pathetic.
