According to Yale beat writer, Agostino will play tomorrow (Wednesday likely a typo):
 Chip Malafronte @ChipMalafronte
Yale's Kenny Agostino should make NHL debut with Flames Wednesday vs. Buffalo in Calgary. #ECACHockey

From preseason, I noticed Agostino kind of has that infectiousness attitude like Backlund. You need guys like that on every team. I am excited to see how this guy fits in!

When i saw him in development camp, he reminded me of a Stephane Yelle-type player: perhaps a tad less defensive acumen, but more offensive upside. I'd say 3rd liner, but definitely a sure-fire NHLer. Pretty gritty too. Great signing.

He never played in a pre season game, and NCAA players are not allowed to play pre season games.

Is this directed at the comments i made? I am basing my comments on his performance at this past summers' dev camp scrimmages. I also realize that he was up against mostly younger prospects-its only my opinion.

Hartley basically said the opposite in his scrum today, indicating Agostino would get the Joe Colborne treatment - spend a bit learning systems and stuff before getting thrown in.

^He also said he would sit down with Kenny and Brian and do whats best for the team. And that are advantages and disadvantages of throwing him to the wolves or letting him acclimate to the system.

Just a question, but why is he not eligible to be sent to Abbotsford but the guy Detroit signed today out of Lake Superior State, Campbell, is going to their farm team for the rest of the year?

I think he was referring to DazzlinDino who may have been thinking about the Prospect games.

Because Campbell signed an Amateur Try Out with the Griffins for the rest of the season and his ELC doesn't start till next season:

I've never seen him play so am looking forward to the Buffalo game. Hopefully he turns into an NHL player and the Iginla return doesn't seem so bad in a few years.
Also, if Agostino ends up battling with Baertschi for the final roster spot on the Flames out of training camp next year someone better start a Kenny vs. Svenny thread.
