Yeah, much of the episode was filler through and through, completely unnecessary storyline where they made a story/drama out of nothing. The funeral home events were interesting, as well as the group running into Daryl. Those were the same ones at the house right? Sketchy bunch. Maybe Daryl convinces them to help him track down the kidnapper. Seems like those guys are the type to be in for crashing on somebody's camp and messing them up.

I don't think that has been established, as it?
I know we see what appears to be their leader on the deck, just before Rick et al run away, but I can't recall if that is the same fella or not.

Yea, same group.
One thing I was wondering about was the timelines. The baddie group that Daryl comes across are probably just recovering from some ####### murdering one of their own, and releasing his zombie incarnation upon them in the house. They will enlist Daryl's help tracking this bad guy down. Or maybe not, after building the Daryl + Beth stuff for so long. I just gotta think Daryl would be smart enough not to tell these guys he's been hanging around with this blonde cutie: "hey guys, wanna help me find her?"

It is. Same actor. I didn't catch on right away but my girlfriend pointed it out and I checked.

Yep it's the actor from SOA I was talking about. He was the guy on the porch when Rick was hiding. If you don't watch SOA you will find out that he has one of those voices you remember. It's kind of unclear what these guys are up to although it's probably no good and if they have Beth it's probably bad news for her.

I just went back and watched the end of both episodes. Yes; it is the same actor- and he is even wearing the same shirt.
What puzzles me is at the end of the episode where Rick had to get out of the house, as soon as a walker started attacking the guys inside the house, they said "Stop her!" and then "Kill her! Kill her!" If Rick killed the guy upstairs and he turned, wouldn't they have been saying "stop him", etc?
I noticed it before, but figured we were done with these guys and chalked it up to a writting mistake.

IIRC while Rick was outside a walker was approaching - perhaps a female walker was approaching from the other side as well?

He's a cool actor. Been a fan since watching him as Dodger on China Beach many moons ago.

I watched both of those episodes back to back. My theory is that the timelines are intentionally out of sync. So the Darryl/Beth story line is happening a few days before the "group" runs into Rick at the house.
Darryl is forced to join the "group" (as shown in the last episode) and they find the house that Rick is passed out in. Then when the guy that Rick kills turns, it's how Darryl escapes and finds Rick/Michionne.
Just my theory for how it all unfolds.

Gut wrenching stuff tonight. Beautifully shot episode though. One of the strongest episodes of the series.

Despite some dreadful acting by the kids that was a powerful, show-altering episode. Even more so than Lori's death. Kind of an entirely new tone set for the series.

i disagree. i have zero interest in those 2 girls. to me it was another waste of an episode.
i would elaborate more but don't feel like using spoiler tags and want to give people at least a couple days to watch the episode.

I think once it airs it's open for discussion. I know I avoid these threads until I have caught up.

That was something, good episode, still think things are dragging a bit, really want the group back together and see what this Terminus is all about.

Wonder if the fire they saw tonight was the cabin that Daryl and Beth set alight a few episodes ago.

Fun fact, the puzzle on the table when Carol confesses is a picture of Sophia.

They speculated about that on the talking dead, there was no definite answer but I would say it is. Beth and Darryl came across the rabbit Lizzy mangled, so I would say it's safe to assume it's the same fire.

It was a good episode but I can't help but feel it was unnecessary having the sister kill the other and have Carol put her down. I did feel the older girl's character was pretty annoying and I won't miss that character but it was just maybe a little over the top.
I don't know if I like the way the episodes have played out solely with one group as it's been weeks since we have seen Rick and while the back story for some of the characters is good it would be nice to get back to more balanced episodes involving all or most of the characters.
