Nice to see the mini boost from firing a coach is starting to wear off with the Jets. 6 losses in a row couldn't have come at a better time.

Their GM is such a butthole. I feel bad for the fans there. He is so over his head and unable to make any improvement to the team. May as well be Waddell there. Hell Feaster could do more than that clown. But he's gm for life cause he's buddies with Chipman.

Ovi closing in on Yakapov in the +/- department. Minus 31... Yakapov better step it up (-33)

This Oilers Carolina game is like what I imagine watching an orphanage fire must be like.

Couture with a short handed goal for the Sharks to take a 1-0 lead. What a deal by San Jose with St. Louis moving up in the draft to be able to draft Couture that year... St. Louis ended up giving their 9th to San Jose and instead drafted Eller at 13, Palushaj at 44 and Ian Schultz at 87.

Two three point games would be sweet. Keep the Canucks away from the good draft picks while still missing the playoffs, the Canes well above us in the hunt for 5th and two bottom dwellers behind the Flames picking up points.

That said I think the Flames are going to destroy their draft slot this week and win at least 2 of 3 against the other bottom dwellers... they have been head and shoulders better than anybody else in the bottom 10 over the last 15-20 games.

Edit and just like that within 60 seconds both games become 2 pointers... shame on me

barring a miracle run Canucks are pretty much set in that 7-9 range

6th at the absolute highest

A 3-10 finish or thereabouts and they could have an outside shot at 5 but agreed its a long shot. Still the idea of them rebuilding faster than the Flames is pretty terrifying after all the terrible years of mediocre hockey and crippling late season moral victories the Flames have become synonymous with.

I think any picks outside the top 5 this year with the big three centres, Ekblad and Dal Colle are going to be project picks a couple years away so as long as they pick up 4 or 5 more wins I`m not worried.

That's gotta be the pinnacle of a me-first player. Leads the league in goals (with a 9 goal cushion on 2nd place) and near league-worst in +/-.

The Canucks had two quick goals late in the first period to take the lead. The second period was scoreless and in the third period, the Panthers tied the game 2-2. Trochek scored on the wrap around. Burrows scored on the power play 75 seconds later to go ahead 3-2 midway in the third period.

This Lack reminds me of Henrik Karlsson, he is big and that is pretty much his only redeeming quality as a goalie.

It's better for Carolina to get the points, we're more likely to catch them than the Oilers are to catch us.

There are two other games in the third period.

The Oilers have a 2-1 lead in the 2006 reunion game, Schultz scored the go ahead goal on the power play and that is the winner, 2-1 final. The Capitals are playing hang on as they had a 3-0 lead and the stinkin' Leafs have scored twice to make it close.

Carolina looked absolutely awful with the extra man. Just threw the puck around without looking. Somehow the Oilers didn't get an empty net.
