One time I lobbed a slurpee at some truck driver who chipped my windsheild. Sure made a mess of his clean white paint job
Those rock chip liquid glass things actually work??? Just assumed that was some scamola.
Also, driving on gravel damages wheels? I didn't know that either.
Windshield chip repair definitely works, it is a special resin that fills the crack, and cures in a couple minutes with UV light. Apparently the stuff is super carcinogess if you get it on skin, so I doubt if it was a scamola, they would use something like that. It usually makes it go away visually about 90%. But it is never perfect.
If you have really low profile tries, and flangeless wheels, yes, rocks will chip them up pretty good, especially the rear wheel, from rocks kicking off the front one.
Helicopter parents. I think Hesla acted reasonably, but saying that he wanted to punch the father is excessive. Nothing wrong with leaving your kid in the car for 15 minutes or less. Kids are coddled far too much these days.
Admittedly I likely went to far with being angry. I think that comes a bit with having my own toddler and pending newborn. I know my 2.5 yr old would be finding as many possible ways out of the vehicle no matter how well trained he is.
I was more upset than I should have been.
However , I still think it reckless. The parking lot for parents is out of sight of the entrance and who really needs an Ikea hot dog so badly that you would put your kids at increased risk. Maybe now he second guesses doing it when it is +30 out.
The inconsistency with the City of Calgary emptying the Bins!
Sked. says blue and black out on a certain day, blue gets emptied, black doesn't. I'm in Southwood so part of the green bin trial, Green was to be emptied today....didn't get emptied.
The worst part of being in the trial area is if they don't empty the black bin (garbage) that means another 2 week wait for me before I give it another "try".

Did you leave both carts out all day? In our area, the black cart gets picked up pretty late in the day; around 2 or 3pm, while the blue bin is picked up around 8am.

Wasn't me so I'm not particularly rattled about it, but what's with clubs not allowing white pants? Is that some sort of gang sign in this city? Commonwealth on 10 Ave, in this particular instance.

Better question:
Who in the world is wearing white pants?

Two black guys in front of me in line. Apparently that's a thing. They're STILL arguing about it with the guys out front.
Sad but true....the white pants are probably a fake story/excuse just to keep certain people out.
I've heard from bouncer friends that it used to happen quite often. Probably still does.
Seems ridiculous to me. White pants look ridiculous (though I do find that black guys pull them off far better than anyone else more times) but I don't see how it's any reason to keep someone out of a club.

It has nothing to do with white pants and everything to do with the color of their skin. White folks have it easy. Can't count the amount of times I've been denied because of the "over 25 party" excuse or "5 pieces of ID" excuse.
Edit: were you alone? Because I find if you're colored and in a group (which I always was) they'd never let me in.
Just cause they let a black guy in, doesn't mean they aren't being racist. They are and always have been in Calgary.
I was alone, meeting friends already inside. The two of them were in front of me, only one had white pants. I didn't think anything of it till the girl behind me in white pants said, "am I okay?"
"Yeah you're fine..."
I am white, and have been turned away at night clubs in the past for hats, sneakers, not having a belt and ripped jeans. I didn't once think to blame it on the fact I am a jew.
Not every single slight is a racist thing. Sometimes there are rules that seem stupid and unfair, but they are still rules.

So you've had bouncers ask you for 5 pieces of ID and then not ask the next white guy in line for 5 pieces of ID? Or have some young punks ahead of you get in but have to be 25 and over when it gets to you and your buddies?
Global ran a story and it doesn't even scratch the surface of what goes on in Calgary clubs.
