...I never really sat back and looked at it, but outside of Kiprusoff and Vernon - holy crap have we had truly awful goaltending (I'd also say Vernon was always the beneficiary of playing behind an all-star team). Hindsight being hindsight, there's just no way you can look back at the Kidd/Brodeur fiasco without having a tear or two run down your cheek.

Guy Chouinard might have been the best playmaker this franchise ever had.

McDonald enjoyed his greatest season in 1982-83. Playing with underrated super star Guy Chouinard, McDonald unthinkably challenged Wayne Gretzky for the NHL goal scoring total. Gretzky would end up with the crown thanks to his 71 goals, but McDonald wasn't far behind with an overachieving 66.

I still get a chuckle about when Fleury declared himself among the 5 greatest players of all time. Not even among the 5 greatest Flames of all time. Especially if you throw in Hull and St Louis, not even among the top 5 Flames RW of all time.
