Much improved in speeds and focus times. Quality is also a bit better though you will not be beating regular point and shoots. Low lights are fine now and won't show up as a super blur like when the phone first came out.

Got a far bigger tax return today than I anticipated, upgraded from nexus 4 to the nexus 5. so far so good. Not nearly as slippery as the 4, big bonus there.

Has anyone experienced static when playing back videos taken with the Nexus 5? The static seems to be worst in quiet settings but is still present in other environments.

The Red Nexus 5 is now back in stock. Looks like all three versions were briefly, all to be shipped March 7th if ordered now.

Not sure why this ticks me off, but buying a Nexus 5, I liked the ability to be the one to have it. Now that anyone can have it without buying a Nexus 5 ticks me off.
Edit:...wait, official from Google or a copy of it? I can't find it in the Play store.

Of course I did. A number of combinations using search. Nothing official. Just things that were there before and nothing I can see that includes Google Now as well in the launcher like the Nexus 5.
Why MMF didn't include a link...well...
lol...nm, found it way down the list. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...launcher&hl=en

Ha, Yeh that would have been helpful.
I'm on mobile right now and linking to the Google Play store can be tricky on that so here is the link to the story from MobileSyrup with the link at the end.

Mine just shipped, hadn't planned on getting a case but reading through here a bumper case seems to be a good idea? Thought maybe one may be needed to protect the camera as it sticks out a bit but the screen glass is an issue as well? I was just going to get a screen protector and call it a day.

If you get the black version, you might want to get a case or skin. That velvet textured finish apparently has a tendency to wear off. I think the red may be the same.

Quick question: I've never bought an unlocked phone before but I'm considering buying this unit. What might my monthly usage fees be for an average use arrangement (1GB data, unlimited texts etc.)? I'm currently on Rogers and pay around $68/month. I'm hoping it would be $20-30 cheaper if I bought the phone out right....

I got $20 off the plan price for using the nexus 5 instead of purchasing one of them. I think if you are looking for 1GB and unlimited talk and text you'll be paying around $65 plus tax.

Most providers give you 10% off of the plan prices if you bring your own hardware. The real benefit is leverage. See something (or negotiate) a better deal with another provider? Just switch right then as you've got no contract to tie you to them.

Best bet would be to move to one of the value brands if you are out of your contract (Koodo/Fido/Virgin).
For example with Koodo $45 gets you Unlimited Nationwide Minutes, 1GB of Data, Call Display, Voicemail and Unlimited Text, $55 gets you the same stuff but with 3GB of data.
I am not sure but they used to have 10% off per month if you brought your own phone as well so that could save you another $5.
Edit: Yup still have the 10% off per month. https://shop.koodomobile.com/plans/plans/index.html

Sold my truck that had an appradio in it, and that was what was keeping me to my S3. So now I'm hunting for a new phone.
Nexus 5 or Galaxy S5?
