Wonder if they even approached him to restructure his deal since his cap hit was extraordinarily high or did they simply want to move on from him?

Considering his injuries and how badly he got torched in the Super Bowl, Champ's probably done as a starting CB in this league. Can probably still be an effective slot corner though. Denver clearly did the right thing when you consider the cap implications. I'd imagine the Broncos will be targeting CBs in the draft and free agency.

From what I've read there was quite a bit of conversation about restructuring....and I believe....moving to Safety. Not something Champ wants to do yet, but will if he has to. I think his thought is that there is an opportunity somewhere else for him to start at CB. He may or may not be right about that.
Throw out last year due to the lisfranc injury. He was incredible in 2012. Might have been his best year as a pro...until the playoff game of course.
One thing is certain. The guy is a professional. There's no BS with Champ Bailey. I hope we see his name in the Ring of Honor one day.

The New Orleans Saints will continue their roster overhaul by releasing running back Darren Sproles if they're unable to trade him, according to multiple media reports.

It's also looking more and more likely that the Cowboys will cut Ware and Austin. They currently only have $2M in cap space and cutting those two would free up about $14M. I'd love to the see the Eagles go after Ware on a short-term deal. Our depth at LB is pretty thin and Ware fits the scheme the Eagles run.

With Jaraed Allen also testing Free Agency, there's some good defensive players the Broncos could chase after.

Bucs are such a disaster right now. Could be on their way to the #1 pick in 2015. No faith at all in the franchise right now.

Looks like it could be back to reality for Chiefs fans after the glorious Cinderella year. Losing 3 starting offensive lineman and less than $10 million in cap space.

Love that they can announce this hours before free agency actually starts, sometimes I wonder why the NFL even has off season rules?!

NFL news personalities have been making fun of it all week. They've been calling it the tampering period.
