Yeah my WD was always my favorite, use him to farm Terror 3, but Wizard is so much more fun playstyle wise.

300K?!?! I'm having difficulty gearing up past 100K even post patch. Nothing that drops seems to be an upgrade to what I already have.

Drop rates seem to be a little buggy, we have been grinding in T4 and I have got 1 legendary per night (about 4 hours) The drop rate for T4 should be way higher .
Edit: Who is Master Tater?

Me. I had a couple CP members add me so I went through the CP list and added a bunch too I hope people don't mind. Also I'm down for pretty much anything. I also have a bunch of machines if anyone, particularly those without a ring, want to do them some time.
Anyways I saw Seven Sins selling for 100's of millions and decided that it would be easy to recuperate that 50M it cost to buy the plan. I guess they changed it to Seven Sins being bound on account though so that plan didn't work out at all. :P Still made some decent shoulders for a rend barb so not all was loss.

Might be. I play for about an hour at a time in the morning and the evening, and I can't remember a play session where I didn't walk away with at least 1 legendary. Working my way through T1 Act 2 right now, and I picked up 5 last night alone.
Wanted to confirm this here, but is it safe to assume that the class of the character who IDs the legendary item impacts the stats? I got two 1 handers last night that i want to give to another class so there isn't an Int primary stat, will this work? My wizard has her Windfury right now, and I can't imagine that will be upgraded until after the expansion and I pick up a 61+ item, so I would rather give the barb or monk some upgrades.

It's probably just being lucky but I got 3 legendaries in like a half hour period yesterday (along with a couple more throughout the day) and maybe another half a dozen spread out over the weekend. I think the key is just finding a difficulty you can breeze through. Seems better running through a white mob and killing an elite in under a minute on a low difficulty than having to stop and take effort to kill white mobs and spending too much time on elites. I also like opening chests.

It's more than possibly changed now but in every other patch and version items have rolled their stats on drop and not on identification. I would say it's pretty likely that even if your wizard id'd the item it would come away with int but I'm far from certain.

Seems like it, I've been trying to play on Master with my newly 60 wizard and I get that sense too.
I guess the question is do the quality of items that drop change from difficulty to difficulty? Or are the item drop qualities based entirely on your character? I think I remember reading that the item drop quality did depend on the difficulty, but that was in the old system.
EDIT: "No, the item quality does not change currently. You have access to the same Legs in Normal as you do in Torment. Torment just gives you a better chance to get them. Come RoS Torment will give access to lvl 70 Torment only Legendary items though."
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/11985188523
So the pool of items doesn't get better in Master/Torment, just means you have a better chance of getting better items, but in lower difficulties you roll through things faster, so still not sure which is better.

With the AH going away, what about buying gold? Never did it but was thinking about it (paying some $$ to save time is fine with me), but with no AH is there a reason now? I guess crafting and gems and stuff still cost gold.

You can buy gold on player auctions etc if you like afterwards. I did it once towards the beginning of the game to get my gems outfitted, but haven't considered it in a long time.
edit: I actually have about $22 from the RMAH in my Blizzard account. I was originally going to use it for the expansion, but it wanted all the funds from the same place, so it is just kind of sitting there. I might see if I can buy some gold with it.

I think it is totally worth it. I remember spending $20 to get enough gold to buy an epic mount in the original pre-expansion WoW. The alternative was to grind mercilessly for about a week. Instead, I spent that week raiding, which IMO is a better return on my (limited) free time than grinding for gold.
Though w/o the AH, I'm not sure how much gold factors into the equation anymore. I seem to be earning more than I can spend on gems and crafting. Maybe things will change when they bring in the Mystic in RoS, I dunno.

The stats have always been generated at time of drop, not upon identification. With the smart drop system, if you are playing a monk when the drop occurs, it is highly likely that monk focussed stats will be on it, regardless of which character IDs it.

In RoS you will be able to pay gold to re-roll certain affixes on items, and from what I hear this can become prohibitively expensive.

Servers are up. Diamonds have been added to the AH, so if you want gold and don't want your diamonds, now may be a good time to make some gold as the prices are quite high for them.

Marquise gems drop at level 70 at a really nice rate so you can sell all the gems you have now if you don't mind not having them for 10 levels. I did that with my perfect star rubys and just put some lower levels in the slots and they were selling for 20mil each. This was a couple weeks before patch, not sure what they are at now.
I do know that gold spiked to $6.50/50mil which is crazy

In regards to money being worthless.
From my understanding when RoS comes out, you can re-roll items stats (you may even be able to pick the stat you want to re-roll - not 100% sure on that).
Basically each time you re-roll a specific item the price to do so increases. This can get very expensive if you are looking for a specific stat but well worth it if you roll it.

If you weren't aware, the last patch fixed an issue with a lot of the high level crafted legendary stuff. My monk is rolling with a pretty good fist weapon/shield combo now
