The Crusades, The Spanish Inquisition are offended that you left them out. They did their utmost to ensure they would not be forgotten by history.

There are #######s all over the world.
However, it seems that there are a lot of #######s that hide behind their religion.

the crusades and the Spanish inquisition were about power and fraud and in the inquisitions case perpetrated by corrupt individuals and monsters more then anything else.
Torquemada, King Ferdinand and the rest of those people got swept away in an orgy of hate and greed. Even if you look at it Pope Sixtus IV demanded the use of due process, legal council and appeal to the Spanish and were told to get stuffed.
The Crusades you have a very strong argument on since it was backed by the church.

I am not religious, but obviously I know many who are. The vast majority of them are good people. Some are #######s.
I know many atheists/agnostics/whatever. The vast majority of them are good people. Some of them are #######s.
Let's not act these are mutually exclusive qualities.

Hitler hid behind the science of inferior genetics when he decided that the right thing to do was kill homosexuals and gypsies and go to war with anyone not aryan.
Don't get too wrapped up in Religion brings out the worst in people. Science, economics, the cut of your jib are all excuses for people bringing out the worst in themselves.

People will use whatever they feel is best to meet their needs to fullfil their desire to be an #######.
Science, Religion, whatever.
However, if religion is being used for "bad" it should be called out.
My experience in organized religion, which is extensive, is that they are self-serving, self-fellatiating #######s. They are for the most part judgemental.

I sure am judgemental. Feel free to call me out.
My opinion(s) is based on my experience growing up in a religious home and large involvement in a church.
Judge all you wish, I am now content/accepting of my views.

Whether it be the "prophet" or Chuck Norris marrying a 6-9 year old it's still a perversion.

I think he meant a perversion of the text. IE most people chaulk up stuff like this to misinterpretations in the religious text.
Regardless, if we can't figure out by now that books from 1000's of years ago dont reflect the evolved values of humanity, there is some deep seeded issues that need to be irradicated somehow.
"But...my religious rights!"
Who gives a f*** about religious rights when they are activiley condoning crimes against the rest of humanity?
Maybe science should launch a violent crusade against all religious-extremism.

Hitler was a christian at first,(many examples of his speeches as a fighter against atheism) then turned into a racist and then he wanted to be a "god" himself, he even replaced the bible with his book Mein Kampf in schools.
Even his SS supposedly forbidden to believe in God in the later stages of the war still wore belt buckles that said " Gott mit uns" ("God is with us") Had he lived a little longer these buckles probably would have been changed to ("Hitler is with us") He grew to hate christianity because he knew he would never be able to control the church, some people believe he ordered the pope killed and authorized the murder of thousands of priests and nuns to get rid of the catholics.
In the end Hitler was just a control freak terrorist with a country.

To be fair, a lot of people do bad stuff and don't hide behind religion either.
People do bad stuff to other people if they have enough motivation ie Power or Money. Film at 11.

The major difference between religion and those other motives is that people dont usually feel like they're doing "good" when they kill and condem others for money or power.
When people do those things in the name of religion 100% of the time they think they are the "good guys".
All cause people are too insecure and scared to accept the uncertianty that comes with death and creation. Stupid.

I would rather people be upfront about their "bad intentions" rather than hiding behind religion
As I said My opinion is based on my first hand experience with organizated religion. If you have a better experience, good for you, and believe me I mean that.

If a non-religious group suddenly said that they just want to hurt/kill/whatever all the gay people because they tend to have nicer living room decor than the rest of us, that would be better than the reasons the Westboro Baptist church uses?

Hitler's war had very little to do with religion. If you read Mein Kampf.
His war was about a desire for power, revenge, racist hatred of anything non aryan (including himself), living space, resources and rage.
Whether Hitler was christian or not was irrelevant in terms of his justification to slaughter millions.
Most of the largest and bloodiest conflicts of the last lets say 100 years had absolutely nothing to do with religion and everything to do with a desire for national power, or money or resources.
Even the current struggle between the radical Islamic groups and the West have less to do with following a religion and more to do with power.
