At the very least, donate the agreed upon amount of the bet to a charity of Red John's choice and post the tax receipt. That would show its not about the money and you're not a welcher.

If Red John isn't responding then just donate to Kidsport.

We didn't figure out how to pay each other because Red John stopped replying and then after I was sinbinned he claimed he tried to message me even though he was signing in and out after I replied. I was more than willing to use a third party and even gave him a few names of posters I knew and he still didn't tell me he was in B.C. I would have made other arrangements but never got a reply. So get your facts straight and my PM's are facts and whoever wants copies can PM me and I'll gladly send you them. Dates and times and messages don't lie.

A bet's not a bet until it is agreed to. The 'how to pay' part sounds a bit weak, but it not like it was two buddies shaking hands before a big game. Based on what I've read in the last few posts, it sounds like puckluck has a pretty reasonable excuse for not considering it a bet.

I can't lay my hands in it right now, but someone quoted a post by PL2 saying he had made a bet.

Why would he make that post if he didn't consider the bet "consummated"

Jeez some of you suck at investigations...that post was 6 days before I sent the last message on the 12th and got no reply which killed the deal. He's the one who said we should set up payment plan a couple days before the olympics only to not reply. Sorry but I'm not going on the honor system with some random internet stranger. He had his chance to reply and didn't. Those are the facts as proven by my PM's. It's not rocket appliances.

Didn't reply because you were sin-binned, which happened BEFORE the quarterfinal game which decided the outcome of the bet. Wasn't my fault you got banned at a convenient time. Really the details should have gotten worked out long before that anyway, but you were being difficult. Like who doesn't do online banking? This is 2014.

This is getting petty. Cards are on the table, everyone knows exactly what happened now. People will form their opinion and you constantly defending yourself isn't going to change anything.

You aren't going to pay up, and this forum has a long memory, so expect to keep getting flack for it for a long time.

The real question is, are you going to face the music or run away and create another new account in the future?

You guys sound like kiddy's fighting for a pool toy . this is what grinds my gear thread. You two could start you own thread entitled "do I owe him" or "make this guy pay me". #### bunch of drama queens either start your reply with "this grinds my gears" or start your own damn thread. Every thread any where on the site eventually starts a fight. Either you two or someone else egging you on. That my fellow CP'ers is what grinds my gears.

What grinds my gears is.... I'm not sure why you don't just admit you're a welcher and don't want to pay and move on. Because you proudly posted the PM's in that thread that was deleted and they contained things like

Give it a rest. It couldn't be any more cut and dry that you made the best but didn't work out the payment process. The spin job you put on that after posting private messages where the bet was CLEARLY agreed to is ridiculous. You made a stupid bet, and because it's the internet, you're not living up to it. It's not shocking and I'm sure it would be put to rest easier if you just admitted you lost but are refusing to pay... because that's exactly what happened.

It's very clear that some of you have never bet in your lives.

When a random Internet poster offers a bet and you accept but he doesn't reply when trying to guarantee the funds then there is no bet. He had 2 days to reply after I messaged him telling him I didn't know he was out of Calgary and I was hoping to do a cash net but he chose not to. I would have made it work if he would have replied since I'm the one who messaged him after his public offer. By him not repying that meant he backed out and no longer wanted to guarantee the funds. No guarantee of funds = no bet. This isn't a bet between friends. I didn't even know Red John existed before his public offer so I wasn't about to trust that he'd pay me if I would have won.

For the tenth millionth time. HE NEVER REPLIED BACK. To me that meant he backed out. I made several attempts to try and drop off money but again he never mentioned he was from BC until a couple days before Olympics. Bottom line is he isn't getting a penny because there was no bet.
