I look forward to watching him on TV in April chasing a cup with the Penguins.

He's still a 40-50 point player that can be played on virtually any line on your roster. He may not be useful to us right now, but that's valuable for any contending team that needs scoring depth.

Good luck Lee.

Also.. Of the 5 Flames players on the ice for that goal, only 1 remains. Weird to think, as that goal doesn't feel too long ago.

Good for Stempy and good for us. Very happy with the Flames deals today. Now, get your butt in gear Cammy!

Are you living in an alternate universe?

best seasons by Lee - 06-07 52 pts, 09-10 48 pts, 10-11 38 pts....

Still a 40-50 pt player??? basically never has been... breaking the 40 pt mark twice in 10 seasons.

In Lee's limited playoffs he has totally disappeared 2 pts in 11 games -7

it was 3 times - he also had 44 points in 08-09. Plus close to 40 twice (38 both in 07-08 and 10-11) and on pace for over 50 last season. Also, this is his 9th season, not his 10th (and he spent 1/3 of his rookie season in the AHL). At least get your facts straight if you try to make him look bad

I'm impressed you showed your face in this thread after spending the last few months trying to convince everyone that Stempniak was only going to get a 7th round pick.

You can stop trying to convince everyone that Stempniak is bad now that he's been traded.

Although I guess beating the dead horse is a time-honoured CP tradition.

NYI acquired Vanek with the intent to re-sign him. (obviously failing and losing a likely lottery pick) Buffalo wasn't gonna re-sign Moulson and ended up with a bunch of draft picks in the Vanek>Moulson transaction. Buffalo cleaned up in this total deal imo.

For those that want to watch Stempniak play with Pittsburgh, tonight's a good night against the Sharks. Two powerhouse teams going at it! 8:30 pm MT

Anyone know the line mates Stemp is playing with? I am assuming he will be on the 2nd or 3rd line? Possibility he could be with Malkin?

He was apparently on the 3rd line with Sutter and Goc in their practice.

That would be pretty impressive since both Stempniak and Goc haven't arrived with the team yet:

Shelly Anderson @pgshelly
#Penguins two trade acquisitions are supposed to be in transit. Not in San Jose yet.

Glad to see Stempniak meshing nicely with the Penguins. Kunitz - Crosby - Stempniak looks quite potent at the moment according to Penguins fans. Will be interesting to see a Bruins - Penguins ECF this year again.

I thought this was posted after yesterday's game and wanted to add to that. Then I saw who posted it and when ... just let it go man.

Glad to see Stemp had a good game yesterday. Hate the Pens, but glad that things are going for him. From a rebuilding club to Crosbys line in less than a week!

Crosby from Stempniak to make it 2-0, surprise surprise!

Gonna be fun to watch Lee turn it up in the playoffs, this is a real shot at the cup for him.
