I'd really love to know how this happened. You could make the claim the market on scoring wingers was over saturated so naturally Cammalleri's price might be low and Burke didn't bite... but there was plenty of middling goalies being shopped around the past 48 hours.

Burke must have been holding out for 2 1sts for cammi haha

Excellent value, watch Berra go full kipper on us now

Who did the Avs think they were bidding against here and where are they going to play him?

A 2nd round pick is a great return! Burke is somewhat redeemed now. I still don't get what Colorado sees in Berra other than as back up for next year. Maybe this is payback for the lopsided Jones and O'Brien trade?

The Avs are hurting for goaltending this bad? Or does Roy think he can turn Berra into a top end goalie? Gotta wonder what the Avs are thinking here.

Meh, decent deal for both sides. Nothing to celebrate about.

Apparently the legalization of recreational marijuana is hurting the Avs badly.

And here I was thinking it'd be a 5th. Very surprised.

Do you really like Reto Berra and believe him that much? Honest question.

I like Berra and think he'll be better then Ramo (isn't now) but I'm blown away by a 2nd round pick. I thought for sure a 6th, or 5th at most.

The Monsters have been having goalie troubles so I bet they stick him there, but this is a lot for an AHL goaltender.

Maybe it's conditional on him re-signing? This seems like a lot for a little, looking at it from the Avs point of view

This certainly takes the sting out of not trading Cammellari (+ potentially Stempniak trade).

Very very unexpectedly high return. Well done Burke.

Yes good return!!! Being giving crap to Burkie saying he did a bad job. This is a great return for a guy with 1 regulation win and a UFA!

Obviously the Avs see something in Berra.

This is a future trade as they still have Varlamov and Giguere (UFA after this season)

Next we are going to get a 1st for Stempniak and I then I will just give up on trying to predict anything.

Vanek/Moulson = Berra

That blows my mind.

Berra could become Gigure 2.0 for the Avs though. Big and has a ton of raw tools. Needs to work on his technical skill and his crease control but his size and athleticism are a rare combo.
