The asking price for Vanek, Moulson, Cammellari must have been way higher because all three fit LA better and arguably all three are better or more complete players. /not a big Gaborik fan

I thought it would be fairly obvious how distinctly different the situations are in Columbus and L.A. Columbus had zero interest in re-signing Gaborik and wanted to get anything for him. Worked out just fine for everyone.

Not obvious at all given both teams hold playoff spots and one got better and one got worse. Will have to see the return first but right now if I'm a Jackets fan I'm getting a little tired of future considerations.

Can blur the lines if you like but theres a distinct difference between a team pushing to make a playoff spot or lower seeded spot if you may and a bonafide stanley cup contender.

Gaborik is more valuable as a rental to a cup contender than a team fighting to make the playoffs. Many have felt Gaborik was dead weight in Columbus.
