Flames Feaster says Iginla rejected trade to Boston

Feaster says on TSN he thought there was 4 destinations for Iginla.

Feaster says Iginla rejected Boston.

Iginla's agent told Feaster you may have a deal with Boston but you don't have a deal with us.

The fact there were multiple teams and at least two offers we know of may have driven up what ended up being the eventual trade. Strange situation still and seems like we are still missing info on how it went down.

Actually people still argue that the Flames owners were doing a solid by Iginla and let him choose to go to Pittsburgh over Boston

It's a black eye and disgrace on this organization that it was jay feaster of all people who traded away the franchises greatest player.

Who cares? As has been repeatedly stated he held all the cards. He took a gamble and lost. He more than earned that right.

I like Jay Feater BUT I Like Jarome Iginla more.

They did.

They had their list, if they wanted to push the matter, they could have.

Was this even in question?

Iginla still did the Flames a favour by letting Feaster negotiate with 4 teams to drive up his price instead of coming out at the start and saying "Pitt only". Both returns from Pitt and Boston were underwhelming and that has to fall on Feaster. Also, JBo gave him 12 teams to negotiate with and he still underwhelmed on that return

It was nice to Feaster though, wish him luck

Not really he had an air tight NTC.

Matches Boston's story, but some continue to cling to the idea that Iginla didn't screw the Flames over. I don't get it.

This. We will never know to what extent the owners held Feaster hostage, but Id better dollars to donuts that if Burke was GM or President last year we would not be discussing this the same way.
We also don't know that the deal Boston offered, or anyone else for that matter would have been any better.

I'm one of them. Given the choice, he rejected Boston and chose Pittsburgh.

The mental leap people are making is that if Pittsburgh had bowed out after grabbing Morrow, that Iginla would have screwed the Flames over by refusing to go to Boston. Don't buy that for a second. If people are mad that Iginla made a choice that didn't suit them, they still need to blame Feaster for giving Iginla the choice.

The choice was given to Iginla by Darryl Sutter, when he gave Iginla a full NTC.

Because Feaster couldn't get Iginla to relinquish his NTC even partially is not his fault.

I thought it was established that the trade would have been a 1st, Chocolatev, and Bartkowski? Or maybe that was just a rumour.

You don't know that.

All I can do is refer you back to my previous post about people making an illogical leap.
