So, Luongo + Schneider for Horvat, Markstrom and Matthias? Is that right?

Trying hard to fit this into your narrative. All teams are dragged kicking and screaming into a rebuild, not just the Flames.
Sure, I'm assuming that they're throwing the towel in but it isn't clear yet if they actually are. We'll know tomorrow.

Florida Panthers with Luongo and Thomas. Vancouver with Lack and Markstrom. Happy day to be a Flames fan.

I lived in Vancouver for many of Luongo's prime years there...the fanbase and media was absolutely ruthless on the guy, considering he was probably their all time best goalie. The whole atmosphere surrounding that team is a circus.

On Markstrom:

Matthew Sekeres ‏@mattsekeres 7m
Thoughts on Markstrom turning into a No. 1 in the NHL? @KevinisInGoal

Kevin Woodley ‏@KevinisInGoal 7m
@mattsekeres work to be done Matt, some things in game that earned him "best goalie not in NHL" label that frankly don't translate to NHL

Canucks will have one.
Always so easy to look back and say this.

I honestly think this happened because he didn't play in the Heritage Classic. Not the other way around.

this has a good calculator
You'd think he would retire when his salary drops down low in 2019. In that case the Canucks will get hit with 2.84M for 3 years. Who knows where the cap will be then though.

When healthy, the Flames now have the most experienced goaltending tandem among the Flames, Oilers, and Canucks.

Ramo has 77 NHL GP and Berra has 29. Total: 106
Scrivens has 58 NHL GP and Fasth has 30. Total: 88
Lack has 25 NHL GP and Markstrom has 43. Total: 68

My opinion of Roberto has improved greatly, but I can't totally forget the diving and finger-pointing he used to do.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Luongo and Steve Anthony to Panthers for Markstrom, Mathias and the Canucks retain 15% of Luongo's salary for rest of his contract.
