I am ok going forward with Lack as a starter, he is all ready a top 20 guy IMO

Come on, no one who's watched Markstrom has said he's a legit guy in years.

Can't wait to see the comments from Canuck fans.

Fans gave up on the playoffs before the team did.

Shame to see Vancouver doing the proactive rebuild, something the Flames should have done.

How much salary is being retained? I hope it's a lot.

Interested to see the salary holdback. Honestly, there was no purpose served by Luongo remaining in Van if they're going to re-build and this is a pretty clear indicator of that. Given the way things sit the return is fair, depending on the cap situation.

Luongo is easily the best player in this trade plus the Canucks are retaining some salary. I think that Florida is the winner in this trade.

So then you obviously think that Karri Ramo is a better goaltender right.
Seeing as how he has a better record over as many games, with a way worse team.

So wasn't it reported that the Canucks turned down Luongo for Kadri last year?

Arguable Feaster got better return though even with the Flames waiting too late. Right now Berra's probably better than Markstrom and he was a throw in on the Bouwmeester trade.

You'd rather have Lack over Varlamov?

FLA has some excellent prospects at center so Mathias was expendable and Markstrom has really dropped off this year..
Your still gonna get 5+ solid years outta Luo so why is this such a terrible trade for FLA?

To be fair to many of these teams, they also don't have a legitimate starter while some teams hold two
Not sure who qualifies either Berra or Ramo as top 30 period...and I like Ramo

OMG wow. I thought Loungo might get traded after being benched but didn't think any team would want his contract. Florida makes sense though.
The Canucks couldn't have handled this any worse. I guess props for finally getting rid of the contract but not moving Luongo last year and having to trade Schneider was a huge mistake. Vancouver now has the same goaltending issues they had before originally acquiring Luongo and I hope the Flames light up Lack for the new few years.

I wouldn't say it's a sure sign. I mean I could see them thinking that they might be able to get by with Lack as their #1 or that they could pick up Halak/Brodeur for relatively cheap tommorow and that it's worth the risk to get rid of most of Luongo's contract.
I think getting rid of Kesler would be the sure sign that they're conceeding the playoff race.

If Markstrom can turn his career around and become a starter finally, great deal for Vancouver
Since he is now a Canuck, I hope he continues being AHL quality
