Maybe they'll one day realize that they have more glaring needs than goaltending

Might as well trade the picks away since they'll screw them all up anyways.

I can see the Oilers trying to dump Yakupov and it might take as little as a 2nd and 4th round pick so they can recoup some of their dealt picks.

Geez, lots of late round picks.

I can't imagine teams are going to get the massive hauls they were hoping for.

In terms of potential, this is the best goaltending tandem Edmonton has had in years. Have they really had anything of substance since Roloson? Not overly.

Fasth is solid. Scrivens appears to be breaking out this season. Hate to say it, but this is a good thing for those greasy punks.

Lets hope Fasth and Scrivens are both lights out and propel the Losers ahead of the Flames in the standings coming down the stretch.

Seems like a really good trade for Edmonton from the few games I've seen of Fasth.

Oilers still have lots of "2nd tier" players to trade off to get 2nd - 5th rnd picks back. What they do with them is another matter...

Scrivens and Fasth doesn't sound too bad of a deal

They have given up Two third rounder's and a fifth rounder to acquire Scrivens and Fasth. Seems like pretty good deals to me.

Give MacT credit, the Oil goaltending is better now than it was when the season started, and all they gave up was lottery tickets.

Fasth was the fourth most important goalie in the Ducks organization.

It is, but the truth is, most goalies have very little trade value. Especially backup goalies. The Oilers are certainly much stronger in net than they were at the start of the season, but that defence is still going to kill them.

I would say Fasth > Bryz, so Oiler's should be happy. The only downside is that Fasth is 31, how long before he starts to show age?

In a system that has Hiller, Andersen and Gibson.

Possibly the deepest system in the NHL?

Paint it however you want, this was a good deal for the Oilers and their goaltending looks better than it has in years.

Agreed, If the defence isn't upgraded before next season no goalie in the league could bail them out. Lots of work left to be done but atleast goaltending is already marked off the list.

I think the real winner here is Gene Principe. Endless pun potential here.

He already has. He has been injured most of the year.

Dont forget how high these picks are going to be... A third is really a low second when its from the oilers.
