Im shocked at this one. I think the only time you really want Penner is for the playoffs. The guy elevates his game in crunch time, but disappears for the first 6 months each season.

I can understand not knowing where every player in the league is playing, but the first word in the thread title is "Ducks".

I'm no Penner fan, but a conditional 4th?

You guys are massively overrating his playoffs play. He got 5 points in 18 playoff games last season and his lone great playoffs was 2012 with 11 points in 20 games. 13 goals in 78 career playoff games isn't exactly a stellar playoff resume and small amount of goals aren't enough to offset the extreme frustration he causes head coaches.

Surprising that the Ducks did this for me. I thought Penner was one of those guys that you want for if you plan on going deep into playoffs.

With some retained salary the Ducks could get both Vanek and Cammy, wouldn't that be something.
Vanek - Getzlaf - Perry
Cammy - Koivu - Selanne

I'm sure when you got PHANUEFED typed "L.A." it was shorthand for "Los Angeles Ducks of Anaheim"

There was talk that Kuznetsov was close to joining Washington, now that his KHL season is done. With the Penner addition, they are bumping up against the Salary Cap. I wonder if they have another move coming... Maybe they found a taker for Erat.

Darryl Sutter didn't have a problem with Dustin Penner.

Jesus. We paid a 4th for Galiardi. I would've been happy to throw it away for Penner.

Insane top 6 but I'd probably switch Cammy up with Getzlaf/Perry because Koivu/Selanne could use the size and frame of Vanek. They could easily afford that especially with retained salary from our part. No questions that NYI would be getting the 1st rounder though, it will be interesting to see the Cammy situation play out for sure.

Quite shocking when you look at his stat line this year:
GP 49 G 13 A 19 PTS 32 +/- 22 PIM 28
He was their top LWer for sure and they drop off to Winnik on the left side who is listed as a Center at HDB and is a right handed shot. It's an intriguing story line for trade deadline day for sure. No way Anaheim doesn't skate into wednesday night with one of Vanek/Cammy and possibly both.
