I always had thought he was developing slowly but surely into a decent main goalie. He certainly was not to blame last season as he kept the Oilers in most games. The rails fell off this season as rebounding was sure an issue.

As Edmonton is retaining half is salary, and now that is on waivers, what would the cap hit for someone to give him a shot. Buffalo, NYI, or maybe Florida might be good destinations.

Still feel like this was a good move for Edmonton. Hendricks is no star, but he brings the tough, defensive, physical game that the Oilers majorly lack; further, it freed up a spot to bring in Scrivens, who looks like a keeper. Meanwhile, Dubnyk was unable to beat out Carter Hutton for the Preds' backup job.

Dubnyk now effectively an AHL backup. Hendricks one of the better forwards playing for the Oilers right now; which isn't saying a lot but he's certainly contributing more to the team than Dubbie did/would have. Allowed the Oilers to sign Scrivens to a decent contract ($2.3mil/yr cap hit 2 yrs) who is posting better numbers than he did with L.A.

At this point even with Oilers paying half Dubnyks salary, they come out the better for this deal.

As per the retained salary; I don't know the CBA specifics but couldn't the Oilers use their remaining compliance buyout from last summer to get rid of Dubnyks remaining contract & avoid having it go against their cap for next season?

who knows if they even have use for him in Milwaukee. Both Mazanec and Hellberg need playing time.

He has a worse record and slightly worse GAA with a slightly better Save %. It would be generous to say he is posting equal numbers, he certainly isn't posting better numbers.

He has a losing record with a .940 save %. The problems in Edmonton clearly arent in net.

Yeah. I have noticed that he stands out as one of the few guys on the Oilers that puts out every night. The more guys you have like that the better but until the top 6 players start playing 100% every night rather than a period here and there it's not going to matter.

Trading Dub was a great move for Edmonton. The guy was terrible. His days playing in the NHL are over, and if it were not for Edmonton, he never would have.
