also put Larsen on waivers
Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
#Oilers put D-man Philip Larsen on waivers. They acquired him last off-season from #Stars in Shawn Horcoff trade.

Oooh, he sold out. And he sold out cheap.
You had to hold your nerve there Ben.

Actually a good move for Edmonton, I kind of like Scrivens.
Although I can see them turning on him too because he is not good enough to carry that sorry group as a number 1 (hell not sure Patrick Roy would have been good enough).

Pretty decent deal for the Oilers.
I doubt Scrivens is a legit starter in the league but at 2 million he is good even if he is the back-up.
Not surprised about Larsen he is terrible even if Pilers fans lauded him as a great steal when the Horcoff deal was made.

Hard to make fun of this. Not a lot of money to find out if he's any good (Spoiler - probably not).
I suppose it does make the Smid trade so they could sign Bryzgalov a bit more funny since he's already been replaced.

I thought they would overpay him more, so this is disappointing. Although, I guess it is a significant raise for him.

Good contract but then again he isn't as good as his stats show this year. He will eventally suffer behind that D. That being said 2mill per year sounds resonable for him.
Wasn't Larsen one of their decent young dman?

Not a bad salary for a backup goaltender that can fill in for your starter during injury. Nothing really earth shattering either as he's not going to be able to change the plight of that team.
