Sorry I was incorrect on that. Was clarified a few posts up. It's 25 games played

Am I the only one who thinks the forward should keep his stick in that situation? Let the defenceman move players out of the way with their body. They don't need a stick for that.

A foward however, is useless without a stick on a PK.

Pretty good kill considering how many failed clearing attempts happened there. Stajan dogging it for sure there.

Pretty sure Gazdik will have to wear a visor for his entire career.

Yes, but defensemen need to clear pucks and tie up sticks with a stick in front of the net, otherwise more goals would happen. Plus, defensemen get the first chance to clear a puck on a rebound usually. Not really that hard to figure out.

It was like a five on three and the Greasers still couldn't score.

Just saw the replay of that fight and it looks like Westgarth got hurt even before he was knocked out. Looked to be just holding on before that last punch.

Yes. If you had more than 25 NHL games played prior to the start of the 2013-14 season, you have the option of not wearing a visor.

All players entering the league going forward, and those with fewer than 25 NHL games played prior to the start of this season, must wear visors.

While killing a penalty? Blocking point shots? Putting pressure on the defensemen with the puck? Blocking passing lanes?

Sometimes I wonder if you've ever watched hockey before this year.

Stajan was literally doing nothing without his stick.

Thanks for the personal comments though.

And open up space at the point and the high slot?

Oilers look like a different hockey team this period.

Playing his position is not "doing nothing". It's not ideal, but you have to clear the defensive zone before going to get a stick, especially with the long change in the 2nd period.

I honestly can't figure out why you're defending this position still.
