I really hate people who think benches are places to put their bags or shoes. Feels so good to swipe a bunch of bags off a bench onto the floor and sit down.

Yeah, this. If you're too poor for a parking pass you're too poor to drive. Gas is expensive. And how did you even afford a car in the first place?

Transit passes are included as part of tuition. Rent a place closer to school and walk or take the bus.

that I miss the first period of the Flames game because basketball goes into overtime.

...and for that matter, why does a five-minute overtime take half an hour in basketball anyway?!

I was all prepared. Set my PVR to record the game, even set it to record an extra half hour past the scheduled time in case it ran long. I gave the game a good 45 minute head start so I could skip the ads, and missed the entire first period. Thanks raptors.

People hate basketball because of racism? I thought it was because it was boring.

It's still hilarious that a $300-500 parking pass is a logical option for those who live on their own and pay for their own school. My calculations were pretty basic (and based on 6 months since two full semesters are split nicely into 6 month periods) but whether you have 800 or 2000 left over after everything but food, a parking pass that uses 25-60% of your disposable income IS hilarious.

Buy one if you want, but saying it's easily affordable by everyone is a joke. Plus, school is CLEARLY more expensive than it was when you went 10-15 years ago. Especially Mount Royal.

At the end of the day, regardless of how affordable it is, if you're asking whether I'll pay 300 to park, or have an extra 300 for absolutely anything else? ...yeah, I'm going to go ahead and park in front of someone's house for free.
Where would you park when you consider there are no parking zones surrounding hospitals and schools?

Btw 4x4's house comes with a truck and a set chains to drag illegal parkers away from where you should not be parking

If people didn't watch certain sports because they were racist then hockey would be the most popular sport the the bible belt U.S.

Shoot Nascar is pretty popular there isn't it? lol

I only ever park in legal zones, so I'm not sure what you mean!

No parking zones around schools and hospitals were brought in because of drivers with your attitude. Home owers got tired of coming home and having zero places to park because self centered drivers who didn't care that a homeowner would have no place to park.

People who try to get on elevators, c-trains etc, before other people get off. I've never had a problem dropping my shoulder into these pricks.

Well I don't park on streets where you need a permit to park, so again, I'm AWARE of the areas you speak of, but I'm not sure what point you're getting at...

I park where I'm legally allowed to park. If it's a no parking/park by permit zone, I don't park there.

Simple.

If they didn't have these permit zones you would probably park your vehicle there thus creating the problem for which these permits were brought in.

So you're saying that if it was legal to park in an area, I would probably legally park in that area.

Yes, that is correct.

I generally legally park in many areas where it is legal to park.

But you don't care if a homeowner comes home to find he has no place to park?

What RGMG is people who say phrases like "straight up", "yo" and "son" on message boards.

What is this, Jr. High?

To me if a homeowner has no place to park because of people choosing to park on the street all day, that's a municipal by-law issue. Most municipalities I know of have a three hour limit for parking on public streets, with permit systems available for those who need to park on the street full-time because they have no place to park at their home. Does Calgary have no such time limit on parking on streets, or is it just not enforced well? If a limit does exist and is not enforced and there are people parking on residential streets all day, you should be able to contact municipal by-law and hopefully they would deal with the situation.
