We got pushed around tonight around their net and we didn't have enough jam to push back.

Colbourne needs to put on 20 pounds of muscle, and Jones has to give a damn at some point.

Flames lack of size is brutally apparent in games like these.

That Sutter hockey. Boring but very effective.

I agree, and I think Colbourne comes back next year in much better shape. This is his first full year. I recall him earlier in the game going into the corner with Regehr right on his ass and he took it all in stride and came out with the puck. My point is that I think he is going to put on the weight he needs and be much better next year, and that then is going to really tell what kind of player Colbourne can be.

Can't believe people liked Ortio's game.

He was weak on the puck on both goals and let out countless rebounds.

Back to the minors ASAP, IMO.

Lol, one game. Easy on the dramatics.

Didn't like either of the goals against Ortio, but he looked okay. Shaky, but not awful. Hope he gets another game.

I agree, he will definitely be looking to put on weight. He looks not bad going into the corners. I'm optimistic he can turn into a good forward.

OMG, picking on Ortio in this game where his defense let him down twice right in front his net? Pure lunacy.

Flames actually played pretty well against a tough opponent who is much bigger than us. No shame in losing the odd close game to a great team when you're rebuilding.

Ortio played in the same ballpark with how Ramo and Berra have played. None of them have looked very good, but they haven't looked very bad either (Except Berra during that one stretch)

Granlund was faster today than he was at the prospect camp. He was slower than the average player, but not so much that it would impact him at all. He played rather well at both ends. If it was up to me, I'd keep him in the lineup from now through the rest of the year.

I just came from the Dome and the result was pretty much as expected. It looked like Ortio's first game, but despite some rebounds and jitters, he did decent. The loss definitely isn't on him. The Flames lack of skill is very apparent. They cycled well and controlled the first 2 periods. But they could never seem to make the pass into the slot for a decent scoring chance. I thought they could have actually been up 3-0 is the first. But Quick made 3 spectacular saves off of deflections which were really the only good chances in the game. I really got a good view of just how good of a goalie he is. His movements are just unreal and I haven't seen a goalie save deflection after deflection like that in a long time.

Sutter hockey took over though. The Flames never really had any solid scoring chances. Regehr was a beast and the Flames just have no finish. Solid effort. But it doesn't matter if you can't make the skilled plays.

Best part of the game was Harvey the Hound making a kid cry a couple rows behind me. I've never seen such fear in a child's eyes as I did in that moment. Whomever was in that suit lost his marbles tonight. Dangling off the railing like a drunk, beating his drum directly in people's ears, rubbing down kids and women like a cat in heat. I swear some random guy got the job tonight and just went wild. Never seen him like that before.

Wasn't a bad game to watch and the effort appeared to be there.
We've beat them twice this year, we were due to lose one to them.

I don't think we have a very serious first line. D. Jones just shouldn't be out there and to start the PP as well.

They played very well for the first two periods, you could see some of the cob webs from the break.

My notable players tonight was obviously Backlund, Hudler, Gio had some big hits. Ortio played decent.

I did not like Russell, who was signed, giving up the puck for that goal. D. Jones in a big way and sleepy Westgarth.

Default Flames lose 2-0 to Kings at home.

Really enjoyed that in PVRing the game tonight I got one hour of basketball (which started with like 1 minute left in regulation), missed the first period, Burke's interview, and came in with 15:00 minutes left in the 2nd.

Sadly that travesty may have been the best part of the viewing experience. It was certainly better than the refereeing.
