I'm not a truck driver but i'm assuming this has to grind their gears? I generally wait a while longer with semis.
In you opinion, why should have I moved over to the right, in front of the other guy, with no one else in sight for miles?

Yeah I have no problem with this either. I'll cruise in the left lane unless someone is coming up behind me.

Absolutely. You said 8 to 10 car lengths. Move over and the guy behind you can do what he wants. You would have avoided the road rage by both parties and we wouldn't have four pages of drivel in this thread.

Aside from breaking a road law, which I was already doing by speeding, and apparently possibly confusing the other driver, that I was in fact the only vehicle in the "other" lane...me neither.

I corrected that to 5 or less, pay attention to the drivel, please.

I'm not going to argue with hindsight editing for the purpose of effect

edit - so you're saying that with nobody else around, you stayed 5 lengths ahead of someone for 5 minutes in the left lane? Argh, have another duff man, that's just annoying

I'm a really odd driver. I like to stay in the right lane until something is in front of me driving at a lower rate of speed than I am. Then I'll move into the left lane and back to the right lane after I've passed it. Although it's a very unusual way of driving, it's managed to provide me almost stress-free driving for the 6 years I have been driving.

I'm not exactly a speed demon. I figure getting in the way of people that want to go faster than me is putting myself into an unnecessarily dangerous situation anyway. I let those going 140, 150, whatever get ahead of me, where they are no longer a danger to me.

Well look at that, a courteous driver. Why wouldn't you just slow everyone down to your speed in the left lane? It may cause everyone more stress but at least it's a terrible thing to do.

Not saying YOU specifically were doing that JonDuke, but that post fits into the general theme of it.

Haha, someone mentioned Firefly being like Springs1, and now this thread has been found by Springs1, as she's viewing the thread lol.

Hey Springs!!!

I'm assuming she'll see there's no food posts to respond to and leave without saying anything. So weird.

I'm sure it's been said before but "lose" and "loose" are totally different words.

You lose a game, people lose their cool, you can lose money playing blackjack.
Some people have a screw loose, loose lips sink ships, the jar lid was loose.

Resisting the urge to be the spelling police but I see this 20 freaking times a day. I feel better having got that off my chest.
