Thank you for the .pdf

I will study it tonight. I am looking for all the possible information on child custody/visitation/support/etc I can get my hands on.

That CBA bulletin is excellent. I just read it more carefully, and I would resist any demand for "equal" terminology. The report also outlines the law in other countries.

I like the idea of Child's Rights group.

Please do not let my post derail this thread. Maybe we should start an anti-feminist thread if you feel you need to reply.
Speaking of which, I was promoted admin for this facebook group:

https://www.facebook.com/FathersRightsAlberta

I managed to tweak it, so it focuses more on Equal Parenting, and the rights of the child, and less about attacking the woman who are perceived to be denying access to the children, and being depicted as greedy. We try and weed out the anti-feminist types. It was actually noted that of Canadians who support non-custodial fathers having more time with their children, slightly more woman favored this motion. So why would you alienate 1/2 of your supporters?

PS...I did not name the group.

Wow....

I briefly looked at that site. The site admin obviously has some serious issues, and should look at psychiatric help, or at the very least, anger management. It's sad he calls his site "men's rights," when all it is comprised of is anti-woman hate propaganda.

To be honest, I thin bill C-560 isn't perfect, but it's better than the status quo. I've heard most US states are trying to involve both parents as much as possible, as the number of single parents is at an all time high, and the negative effects on children growing up with only one parent are starting to come to light.

Troutman, you know more about this kind of situation, what country has the most ideal family laws, relative to our own? Nothing is perfect obviously, but what country has laws that are most beneficial to children, when it comes to the Divorce/Custody laws?

Relevant article on bill C-560 going to parliament

"Sociological research tells us that what children want after separation is two parents, not one parent and a visitor. But once in litigation, although lip service is paid by law associations to the “best interests” of the child, make no mistake: Lawyers work to advance their clients’ wishes, not the children’s."

Apparently it's going to be voted down, Sign the petition here:

My daughter was lucky that her mother and I could work out a collaborative agreement but even that was tough.
