I broke a few bones in my hand years ago and my hand writing never recovered. It looks like a 5 year old's writing with a mash of printing and writing.

I've looked at some of my old school work and I've noticed legibility is worse now than when I was a third grader. Maybe it started when I was in highschool and had to crank out math problems at a quick rate that my writing suffered

My l's, d's and t's are in cursive and the rest of the letters are printed. My penmanship is an abomination. I'm surprised anyone can read it. I much prefer the computer.

I tend to miss a lot of letters while hand writing. And a lot of times I've forgotten how to connect letters.

Screw cursive and printing. I just write like this all the time:

Saw this on reddit a while ago and thought it was pretty neat.
Hopefully upping a lower sized version didn't ruin it

I have two nephews in Colorado, and they are not taught cursive.

I cut meat for about 13 years, which turned my hands into claws for a while, and my writing/printing hybrid, which was never good, went down the toilet.

WTF is their signature going to look like?
I got Jean Beliveau's autograph a few years ago, he was 79. Amazing penmanship.

I was always lectured by my dad (I'm 32) that they don't teach penmanship in school like they used to, never helped that that was one constant negative remark on my report cards in early grades "he needs to improve his penmanship."

Related question: my signature has devolved over the years to an illegible mess. I actually like a really nicely rendered signature. And I would like to have such a signature. But I can't figure out the logistics of actually changing mine... could I just sit down and come up with a signature that I like, spend a month or so writing it out on a regular basis until it becomes natural, and then tell my bank and other institutions that have mine on file that I decided to change up my signature and that I want to remove all instances of my old one and replace them with my new one?

My 15yo son really struggled to sign his application and paperwork for his first job. No idea how to write his name.

Every few years, my bank has me sign a card that gets placed on file so they know what my signature looks like. It's changed a lot over the years. So I'm sure if the change isn't drastic, you could just go in and let them know. May need a couple pieces of ID though.
