There is no award given for "winning" the overall Olympics (as far as I know).

That's American media for you. They don't take losing well.
Have family on vacation in the States right now and they were saying how the news networks were going out of their way to ignore the womens gold medal story after the game. Sports highlights wouldn't mention it, despite setting up previews earlier. Same with the men's team loss to Canada. You know if they won they'd make a movie out of it though.
Gold medals is the proper way to do medal standings, and the Americans always did it that way until it started making them look bad. This is the same media that will tell you the Americans have never lost a war (even though they've lost their last two).

Did you miss GGG's post?
That's the Canadian media for you.
This is the same media that will tell you Canadians invented hockey (with no 100% factual proof of such). This is the same media that states Canadians burnt down the White House (even though it was British soldiers, and the ones that would end up becoming Canadians were no where near back in what would end up becoming Canada).
But I guess if you keep repeating something it becomes true eh?

The dutch earned 23 out of 24 medals in Long Track Speed Skating. Their other Medal.... short track. If that were hockey, 2 Medals.
Canada just picked the wrong sport to be good at.
I also think Russia, Norway and Sweden got a lot more Biathalon and Cross Country events added to this olympics to Pad gold medal numbers. This competes against Canada and the US's attempts to get X games sports added where we usually are better.

If you look at the Own the Podium promotions in the years leading up to the games the goal was to lead total medal count in the Vancouver 2010 games.

That billboard has been there for two and a half years, at $7k to $10k per month, from what I've been told

This is exactly the reason I don't understand why total medal counts are prepared. Same thing happens in the summer olympics with swimming and track and field - so many medals are handed out in those two sports compared to others. It really is not a fair to compare, but everyone seems to get bent out of shape for the total medal count.

It's pretty hard to defend you a-holes that don't have mud flaps. Do YOU like it when your truck gets peppered by gravel? No? Neither does anyone else. So grab your penny jar, and head to crappy tire, and spend $40 on some plain black flaps. You don't have to get the Yosemite Sam ones (but if you want those, I'm sure they'll be in stock) and put them on your fricken truck. Pure d-baggery to drive around this town without mud flaps.

If you can afford a huge lift on your truck, you can afford $150 worth of mud flaps. It looks so trashy without them. Same thing with Jeeps, so many rolling around without mud flaps and 35" tires.

I'm a new driver and don't really like it when people drive too close so I will purposely shoot gravel at them if I feel they are not a safe distance. Then again, I drive a Jeep Compass so it's not very big.

Do you drive less than the speed limit?

That's pretty dumb, why not move out of the left lane if you're intimidated. By weaving all over the place you look like a struggler that can barely keep the car between the lines.

You're a new driver so maybe you should get a pass on this but stop this very teenage mentality and grow up as a driver, fast.
Please.

Not sure if you are being serious, but if you are...
If you are a new driver maybe you should be focusing more on driving and the rules of the road, and less on trying to play vigilante with the car behind you?

Not justifying this, but he/she didn't say they were in the left-lane. You can get tailgated in the right-lane too.
On a GMG note, anybody driving dualies driving around downtown (specifically 17th Ave) this time of year. Do you know you take up both lanes?

I don't think I have seen anything parked along the side of EB 17th Ave during the morning commute.

I assumed left lane because usually the right has less tailgating.
