flameswin, I'm with you on a lot of things, but that topic really doesn't need to be restarted here.
It was locked, let it die (or meet whatever fate it meets).

I was just expressing my opinion on the public shaming thing in general, but I can see your guys' point that it may lead to the same arguments here. I be all sorry and all that jazz.

That hockey mom in the dog-poop thread said that people called the girl a bitch. I think it was just me and I actually just called the dog a bitch.

USA USA USA.
That chanting gmg's and always makes me happy when they lose things.
I heard the US girls hockey team did something to the Canadian flag, if that's true, fkem, that's bad sportsmanship and I hope they cried all the way home.

Back in 2002 during the Olympics, prior to the Gold Medal game, the American Women's team put our flag on their dressing room floor and stomped all over it. We won, Wickenheiser gave the best sound Byte in the history of sport, and I've relished every American loss since.
#### their team, and #### their fans. I spent about 2 weeks getting mouthed off by flippant American "fans" in the online game I play, none of whom actually follows the sport. When we won (Both games) this year I kept my mouth shut for the most part and still had them all whine about me being a ###### when I asked them to pay up on the bets they made with me.
And if your curious, 1/7 had the humility to pay up

I dosed off on the couch as the puck was being dropped and missed the entire game.

Long story time:
I take pictures of things for a living and sometimes I try to sell those pictures to people. I sent some to an interested party in 2011 for their consideration. Watermarked with my copyright. They need to see the product before they buy it, so this is a way to ensure they won't use the images. If they opt to purchase, I send the un-watermarked version.
Flash forward to today and my fiancee is an interior designer. Her client sends her his Houzz (kinda like pinterest for interior design) ideabook. I'm walking by her desk when she has it open, and I see my photo! The person I had sent it to was using it to promote her business, and my fiancee's client had added it to his ideabook, which he sent to my fiancee for ideas!
I didn't remember selling her any photos, but I must have, because here they are online. Check my records, and it turns out she opted not to purchase.
So, I take a closer look at the photos on Houzz and she had REMOVED my watermark with photoshop! And sloppily at that! Only one person had pinned the photo to their board and it was my fiancee's client. And I walked by at the exact time it was on the screen for a split second. Otherwise, I would have no idea.
Most of the time people violate copyright, it is due to ignorance. It's annoying, but understandable. Then there are people who know maybe possibly they should be paying, but try to get away with not - not too cool. But people who digitally remove someone's watermark are lower than low. Pretty flabbergasting.
Sent off a sizeable invoice for past use and another for any future use and am waiting to hear back.

Hope it works out for you.

The term 'just saying' grinds my gears. It adds nothing of value after you've made a post, tweeted, said something, etc. I don't get why people use it, or what they think they are gaining from it.

That Mobil billboard on WB Hwy 1 before Kananaskis. What is that there for? It's not so much that it's Mobil, but just... why detract from the scenery with that huge thing, almost randomly placed with seemingly little relevance to anything. I can see lodging or tourism signs - but why this? Especially as you are moving away from oil company headquarters? So you remember Mobil for no apparent reason?

LOL, yep, same here. Got up at 4:30, grabbed a bacon and egg Mcmuffin combo, sat down, and next thing you know, it's 10:00 and I have a cold breakfast on my coffee table.

Clapping for people who win door prizes or raffles. Especially ones where a person is automatically entered.

Wrgmg all the u.s. broadcasts showing the u.s got second place in the final medal count knocking canada down to fourth. Canada got third, you got fourth based on everywhere else except your media. It goes by golds not the number of medals.

Here's a story from yesterday about how people are inconsiderate dicks who put others at risk.
Driving home from Beaver Mines yesterday morning, took the 3 over to Ft McLeod and came up the #2 all the way. Probably going about 110-115 consistently, which is all I ever really want to do on my snow tires. So obviously I'm getting passed every couple minutes by some guy, inevitably in a pickup and who inevitably has tailgated me for about a minute beforehand, because 5km over the speed limit with snow on the road is offensive. Whatever, fine, that's the way it always is.
But just before Okotoks we reach a different level. I've been behind a Pacifica doing about the same speed as me, more or less, for the past 20 minutes-ish. I look in my rear view and see this guy just gunning it up the left hand lane. The guy's pickup is a work truck, painted with the name of some door company, and a rack in the back with a couple ladders on top of it that are bouncing around. The guy's doing 140+, easy, through the partially covered left lane, and while thinking that this seems unsafe to me, I happen to glance at his license plate.
I barely have time to process it before he pulls in front of the Pacifica a second later. Two seconds after that, I see a ladder come flying out from under the Pacifica. Sideways. Across the entire lane. I veer off the side of the road onto the shoulder, either just missing the ladder or possibly catching the corner of it, lose traction, skid, somehow manage to regain control, and manage somehow to not die or flip my car down the embankment. Thank you, Blizzaks.
The guy in the pickup takes off, still going along his merry way at high speed. Not sure if you can hear a ladder slide off your truck rack at 140kph, but I'd think so. Doesn't stop. Long and short, if you're going to drive at speeds most would consider unsafe in winter conditions, fine. But if you're going to do it AND be a hazard to others? Go to hell.
The Pacifica took off trying to catch him, possibly minus important vehicular components - not sure what the bill for that will end up being. Also not sure what happened behind me, if anyone else ran over that damned ladder. Hopefully no one was hurt. I am, however, sure that the RCMP knows whose ladder it is. See, I happened to glance at your license plate. SRE 087.

When people use the phrase: "Everything happens for a reason". On one hand you can say "well of course they do". However my bitch is people use that phrase to absolve themselves from any responsibility they have for the actions they take. Cheat on your partner? "Everything happens for a reason". Be dismissive of the people around you at work? "Everything happens for a reason".
Drives me nuts.
(lol...I already know the reply I will get)
