Yzerman will not be Canada GM again
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Yzerman just told me he's not going to be Canada GM again. "Time to move on," he smiled.
Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
Yzerman says he will not return as #TeamCanada's executive director in 2018. Let the debate begin for who will construct that team.

NHL players might not be going in 2018 anyways. Makes sense to go in a different direction if it will be amateurs next time around.

He already built a team of amateurs though, what's he got left to prove?

Next on his bucket list is to get a Stanley Cup ring as GM. I think he's close to that as well.

add in the number of injuries and throw in the positive drug test as well and I agree completely and hope we are right.

Lowe only takes the job if his assistants can be MacT, Messier and Gretz and the coaching staff can be Huddy, Acton and Buchberger.

instead of the same lame jokes why not use a brain cell or 2 and think up real candidates that could help us win?
I say Peter Chiarelli if the NHL returns in 2018 and Ryan Jankowski if the NHL does not go.

Interesting that he is so definitive so quickly after the win...no time to sit back and think about it. Wonder if something in the process/organization bothered him or if he just feels there nothing left for him in that position (seems like a strange stance to me).

If the NHL returns Doug Armstrong would be a very strong candidate

Maybe that's only way Kevin Lowe become a winner as a GM. I mean how bad a job can he can do to pick a team?
