Where there's smoke there's usually fire - I think there has got to be something fishy going on with regards to the judging.

You misunderstood the comment.

A home crowd is an advantage in every refereed sport, because referees are human. Not because the results are fixed.

Don't even get me started on the NHL comment. I mean sure, Reffing has issues, but the ref doesn't singlehandedly determine the outcome.
Oh please. I've seen tons of games decided on reffing alone, the difference is much bigger than in figure skating. The margin for error in figure skating is much smaller for the athlete to even have a chance. If the Russian falls a jump or makes a mistake, she's done.

The "controversies" in figure skating come only in the very top, where it's really, really hard to say which of the top performers was the very best. It's always the same; those that have no skin in the game or who favoured the winner think the results were fair. Those who lost cry and whine.

Oh and, nobody is saying that Kim was second over the French because of the refs, no, that was clear apparently. Based on what really? Why wasn't the third place fixed? Olympic medals are big deals. No, it's the gold that was fixed, because it's the Russians that are Evil and that's just how conspiracy nonsense works.

Just ignore everything that doesn't fit your little theory.

And again, why was Kim in first place after the short program, if the results were fixed? It just doesn't make sense.

But sure, if you don't think figure skating is a sport, don't watch it and stop whining about things you don't understand. Problem solved.

Wouldn't be a Winter Olympics without a figure skating controversy.

To summarize, Sotnikova beat Yuna Kim by about 5 points and most of that was because her skate was more difficult, including more triple jumps and a Lay Back spin that was ranked higher. The difficulty was enhanced because of the bonus points awarded for having jumps in the last half of the skate.

Also note that her stumble on the double toe was taken into account but as Kurt said, it's not a big deduction since the base rating wasn't high to begin with.

They were pretty much tied on Program Component Scores - basically the wow factor, taking into account choreography, interpretation, skills etc. This I don't really agree with but 8 of 8 judges disagree with me. It's hard to prove a scandal when all the judges are in agreement.

Like all judged events, the lowest and highest marks are thrown out.
Thanks for this, my anger is back to the media covering it not diving into these score cards and showing precisely where they disagree. Now all they need is to reveal which judge is which and you have a pretty transparent system.

Still some garbage in there which allows known skaters to be given higher marks on reputation or opinion like choreography and interpretation.

And now it's evidence of corruption. Can't be both ways.

Expected winner wins: Corruption! because the judges knew the winner ahead of time.

Unexpected upset: Corruption! Because she shouldn't have won and the expected winner (Kim, who did skate beautifully) should have.

Can't speak for everyone, but I was talking about ice dancing only when saying there are no upsets. There's always been debates/upsets in the other events - see Canada men's skaters winning world championships but never the Olympics.
