Oh I know it's not up to the refs. I get the whole story, it was a botched call. Like a few others. Like the bodycheck from the linelady in the dying 1:30 of the third. But I was ok with the result being a PP in sudden death.

And as bad as the calls were, they seemed to be bad on both sides, no team can really complain about the reffing, at least in affecting them. It evened out as you said earlier.

Saying that it's about on par with boys midget hockey isn't diminishing it in any way. That's just a fact.

If the NHL doesn't send players in 2018, saying that it won't be a best-on-best tournament isn't diminishing it either - that's just a true statement.

Regardless of the talent level, these are still the best women hockey players in the world and Canada is on top again and that's something to be proud about - especially the manner in which it occurred.

Exactly. No one can claim to feel hard-done-by because everyone was equally hard-done-by.

But you never embarrass the refs. When you're warned, and you don't listen, they will always take it personally. Human nature, and pretty basic in sports.

We won the game with a 4-3. It was 3-3 before the final call. Hayley gets hauled down. Don't get the penalty shot, get a PP instead. Can't make it 3-2, so it became 4-3.
