I guess we'll never know, but I wonder what her reaction would be if someone took a dog into the graveyard where one of her relatives or friends was buried and let it rip a coiler.
Sometimes what people do is the height of hypocrisy.
Its just like a bully loves to beat up someone smaller, then cries like a baby when someone bigger kicks the crap out of him.
In fact that should be her penance, the judge should give her a choice, either she pays a huge fine, or she's forced to take a spiral on a loved ones grave.
Picking up her own poop is optional.

Unless the owner of that deer decided to bring the deer for a walk through the cemetery we are not talking about the same thing.

Do you actually think that is supposed to be a difficult choice? Give me some Taco Bell, I'm going to visit grandma.

So my initial reaction was this, no big deal. Then I imagined it being my mothers grave and it bothered me a bit.
I think posting the image is too much, confronting her was appropriate, and really its a minor issue.
If anyone has bikini shots of her, please post.

All it would take is one person in her inner circle to find out and gossip about it to the people who associate with her. It doesn't matter if the majority have no idea who she is. And how do you know that she felt no remorse?
I think most people will agree that it was ignorant of her and at the very worst, rude and disrespectful. A public shaming on the world wide web doesn't seem like a just or measured response though. The person taking the photo should have alerted staff instead of playing vigilante hero over a dog poop. What's next... putting people's pictures on milk cartons when they break noise by-laws after midnight? Maybe make people who get parking tickets wear identifying marks on their clothing so we all know who they are?

Exactly. Passing around pictures is generally reserved for sex offenders and escaped convicts. This is not that obviously.
Simply confronting her and making sure she cleans up and knows the rules is the way to go. As Flames Addiction said above, alert the staff if you need to, or it's a repeat offense or something like that.

Dog crap laws are pretty much never enforced. Ever been to a dog park, absolutely disgusting. I have a dog and am hyper aware that it is my dog, no one elses. Its s^it is my problem and no one else should ever have to touch her crap.
The graveyard part of this is irrelevant to me other than negatively affecting someone else's stuff out of selfishness and laziness. It is up there with doing an illegal U-turn. It is saying "I made a mistake, I am lazy, and now all the rest of you need to do something to make this better for me, so fata you". It is out of the blue fataing with a complete stranger.
Her cleaning it up though, that goes a long way for me to the point of her photo should not have been posted. That makes her way better than a tonne of folks with dogs.
|
+1
Lazy, irresponsible, possibly bordering on selfish as we're not exactly sure why she was walking her dog there. Maybe there's a good reason, maybe not. But hardly malicious, especially since she was at least being responsible enough to pick up after Fido, which as you said, still makes her better than many.

Who on this planet isn't going to clean up the mess when someone has a camera pointed at you?
I bet if she spotted the witness before walking through the cemetery gates, she wouldn't have taken her dog inside.

If she brought the bag, it's logical to assume she would have picked it up anyway. She didn't do it just because someone took a pic.

^^^ I would say that's much worse to be honest. A bigger act, more deliberate, and a bigger strain on the city.
And it still feels icky shaming those people, haha. Maybe it's the tackiness of the Sun Article. But they should definitely be fined or charged for sure.
As in this case, no problem with the woman getting a ticket. On the other hand, a strict warning seems fine too, as she did clean up.

I remember the garbage dumper story and I was glad they were caught on camera and shamed, I wish that happened more often. The city should explore increasing the fines to crippling levels, $5,000 for the first offense and make it so if they don't pay there's a warrant out for their arrest.

Because her prior actions show a respect for the rules in place?

1. When walking a dog there is only one reason you bring a bag. If you aren't planning on picking up, you simply don't bring on, that's easier after all. You don't bring one and think, 'well, I'll use it, but only if I have to'. Sorry, that doesn't make any sense.
2. Prior actions? I don't know what you mean by this. Do you mean actions captured in the pic? We don't know what she did before this day (unless I missed something).

Ok. Dunno if that's prior or not though. It's the same day. Your wording confused me.
Still doesn't really serve as a point to suggest she wasn't going to clean up. She came prepared, and she did. There is no reason to believe she was shamed or reminded into doing it.

There are other reasons, some carry the bag in the event there are witnesses and they "have to" pick it up...
I have witnessed people pull out the bag after they've walked 10 feet away and I yell at them to pick up their dogs feces because they are a disgusting pig, shaming them into returning and picking up the mess they created by being an irresponsible dog owner. She is what's wrong with people, light her up!
Not her, cause she picked it up, but if I wheel my chair through dog #### again the next person I see leave a dog #### near my place of residence is going to get a shot to the mind.../rant

Well I guess I've never run into that myself. I believe you, and while it's not impossible, I would wager it's a very small amount of the population.
The people who don't give a crap, pun intended, usually just don't come prepared.

just having the dog off leash makes me hate her I'm not even going to get into the whole letting your dog c*ap on someone's grave site.
People are too dumb to own dogs.
