Hah, I think the same about sports talk radio. Why does anyone want to listen to men on air talk about sports? Amusing especially when people complain about the content. There's not exactly a high quality/information curve there.

I thought Kelly Kirsch(sp?) with Steinberg in the afternoon was quite good. Kirsch should do that full time.

Because its entertaining? I can listen to my own music whenever I want or get a way better selection with XM radio.

Just read that too. Calgary radio is really going down. Hate Rome so I listened to Rutherford, then they fired him and got a regis and Kelly show now. The fan was great with ryan, he did a good job. I think HC at noon was too much. Bring back SN HC at noon with Maclean, Kypreos and Millard. Don't get to listen to morning show much but when I do I just laugh that Pinder is still here. Rhett needs to take over co host with Boom.

Same budget reasons as Francis and Warrener being cut back. My guess is you will see an up swing in talent investment after April 15 and throughout the summer after the 2014-15 NHL rights revenue (ie. Ad sales) start kicking in.

After all, Rogers/Sportsnet has 12 years and $5B worth of content to support and TSN and CBC will have some top end talent looking for work (on-air and behind the scenes). I'm assuming this trickles down locally.

Wow, unbelievable. I stick up for those guys when I can, but that's just bushleague. It's too bad for a lot of the guys that work there, definitely not a place to go if you're "career" oriented.

I liked Leslie - sad to see him go. But to be honest, I don't listen to the radio the way I used to and get a lot of my updates from Twitter/CP

Leslie really grew on me, I wasn't the biggest fan when he joined the Fan 960, but I really started to like him, sucks to see him go.

Cutbacks coming shortly after Rogers being awarded the big NHL deal. And I thought that noon hockey show was supposed to boost ratings not lead to layoffs. I guess Kypreos is going to need a bigger budget for ties seeing he's going to be overexposed as the Rogers NHL poster boy. Can't wait to see the clown show next season.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing when the announcement came and it was a Rogers circle jerk all over their network. I wondered how many of those people realized that a lot of them were toast.

Didn't think it would cascade to some normal radio guy in Calgary though, they must make peanuts anyway.

I wonder if Rhett was cut back to 3 days for budget reasons as well. This whole budget cut back seems kind of weird given Sportsnet just purchased the rights to the NHL. There coverage before was sub par, now it appears they're making it worse. Hopefully its just an excuse to dump some of their lesser talent to bring in better personal when 2015 roles around.

I wonder how long Rogers is going to keep up the magazine charade. they've sent me issues for having the Centre ice package... pretty sure the last issue had about 4 pages of ads total. The thing has to be bleeding money.

This makes me angry.

I liked Leslie. If I get more Rome or those clowns from Toronto because of this, that will make it all the easier to stop listening to this station.

Or are they? Wait until they start cost cutting on the main product.

Bring back Rome. I want to hear something other than hockey talk. I used to love hearing the NCAA updates from Richards.

Ryan Leslie was great, I was hoping they would put him on the morning show with Pinder/Warrener and fire that slug Boomer.
