The Spanish guy got DQ'ed because he took out the Canadian Hill. What's the point of being DQ'ed if you cause another guy to be DNF?
|
Exactly. There were a few DQs but the victims don't get to go again like in short track.

That Russian guy is definitely putting weights at the front of his sled to go faster.

This isn't a homer thing because I honestly don't care but this is the stupidest "sport" I've ever seen.

Because it's a "race" I think it's great, certainly better then judged events.
That said, I prefer ski-cross to snowboard-cross.

Fine but when crashes decide 4/6 races I watched it doesn't really seem like the best snow crossers are winning it seems like luck is 75% of this event.

I think it's a major fail that they went to 6 racers
A) it's too crowded
B) there is no room to promote the victim of a DQ. can't have 7 guys race.
So you get hit... you're SOL.

It works out a lot like BMX or motorcross races. I think they should have at least a few secondary qualifying races for those that get taken out by the mistakes of others, based on judges discretion. The poor German guy had the Canadian guy running right at him, and some other guy seemed to hold his board up after falling in the middle of the hill.

Should be 4 man race, 1st and 2nd move on. 6 boarders is a mess

I'm on the fence about whether this should even be an Olympic sport. It's a great sport to watch, but a medal in it just doesn't seem to have a lot of weight when so many top riders can be taken out through no fault of their own in any given race.
I think it would be a more fair format to have it like, say, the chuckwagon races where there's a series of races every day, and over the course of a week the best riders rise to the top (maybe your worst 2 results are tossed out), and the top 6 race in the finals.

Swiss guy went head over heels in one race cause of a crash.
SOL.

The way that these guys seem cool with each other and the finish line or after they take each other out, I assume its a regular occurrence on the regular tour that we don't see the 3.9 years between Olympics, and that anyone at anytime can basically win these races.

Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense, but I guess they want to get in as many riders as possible without spending too much time. But that's honestly the way they should go with how often the riders are crashing into one another.

Yeah, that one looked really violent. The guy in the black bib came down on his head at the peak of a jump.
